Lumberville 1740 House

What a great place the whole staff were awesome the rooms and the views were awesome coffee all day and a really good breakfast every morning the staff go out of the way to make your stay great we played cards at night in the lounge downstairs and they provided snacks just a great experience thanks

A truly hidden gem! The room (which we got upgraded to because they were generous enough to accommodate my wife's pregnancy) was immaculate with a great view, the service and hospitality was top-notch, and the FREE breakfast was on-par, if not better than, breakfasts you'd typically overpay for!

The finest accommodations Bucks County has to offer. Loved our spacious room [junior suite] with a wonderful patio overlooking the Delaware River. A delicious breakfast each morning ordered the night that comes with ur stay each day. Close to shopping, restaurants, parks , etc, Soooo highly recommended, very affordable and pet friendly. A MUST GO!!!!!!!

Awesome stay clean beds great view very nice bathroom and shower. everything working and nice staff come here you will enjoy your stay. very nice breakfast and nice food and very helpful staff. Big nice balcony and nice working TV. and medium size closet.

- - - - - - - - October, 2023 Visit Our family visited Philadelphia for a family wedding. We had a good time. Our niece recommended staying at the 1740 House, and we are glad she did. - - - The Building - - - While most of the property was built in the 1960s, and significantly upgraded since 2000, the main sitting room, where they serve the coffee, and the one bedroom, were actually built in 1740!!! The property is right next to the Delaware River, the longest free-flowing / un-dammed river on the East Coast; both the NJ and PA side have canals; the 1740 house is immediately on the canal, which is immediately next to the River… the views from the main building and from the rooms are wonderful! - - - The Team / The Staff - - - Pam and the rest of the staff, including housekeeping, are very gracious, welcoming and helpful. - - - The Food - order pencil-on-paper and ENJOY! - - - Breakfast was included; you order on paper sheets the night before. Breakfast is GOOD! We enjoyed: - broccoli fritatta with bacon - Belgian waffle with big pieces of sugar mixed in, for a nice, light crunch, with apple topping with bacon - phenomenal - they have coffee and cream, tea, and also yogurt, bread/muffins, etc. - And they have bacon! - Did I mention how phenomenal the Belgian waffles are? They are phenomenal!!! - - - The Rooms - - - The rooms are similar and unique. The beds are so nice; not too soft like other placed; high / tall beds that are firm… nice. Strong radiator heat is readily offset by cracking the window to maintain just the right temperature. Irons and ironing boards in each room, to make sure you look your best. TVs are in a hutch with doors that you can keep closed and not see the electronics - NICE! Thank you for the great visit, Pam and team at the 1740 House! ----- ----- -----

The B&B was extremely comfortable and all the employees were really nice. The food at the restaurant was good but not exceptional. My wife and I highly recommend staying there for a getaway. The views from our room were beautiful and a walk across the pedestrian bridge was delightful.

What an awesome, cozy, wonderful place! Went for a fall foliage birthday weekend and had a great time! Everyone at 1740 is super nice. The Club tavern experience is great (Alec the server was so nice and fun!). Perhaps most importantly, my room was adorable and comfortable. The view of the Delaware river was spectacular and the fireplace was lovely. All in all - such a great stay full of charm and warmth!

We spent two nights at the 1740 House so we could explore the biking, hiking, and cute towns along the Delaware River. The inn is about 6.5 miles north of New Hope and provides a quiet respite for those wanting to enjoy the area without being in the middle of the busy downtown center. We had room 5 which was a king room on the first floor and had a patio overlooking the river. The accommodations were quite comfortable and clean and the breakfast options included cold and hot items. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and provided information on local restaurants and the bike trails. I would definitely recommend the 1740 House for travelers to the New Hope/Lambertville area.

We enjoyed our stay at the 1740 House. Our charming room was spacious and super clean. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast, the next morning was delicious. The view from our room and the patio was lovely. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. I would highly recommend staying at the 1740 House.
