Club Ciudadela

A lovely small hotel, peaceful and quiet. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. lovely pool, large and deep with a childrens area. An old review on here mentions accessibility into the pool as it is so deep, well they had gently slopping steps fitted into the shallower end whilst we were there, so that is not a problem anymore. All staff friendly and helpful. I travelled as a single woman with 3 children, and I felt very safe here. Supermarket a stones throw away and centre with restaurants and shops 5 minutes walk. We had a lovely relaxing stay, I would return and would highly recommend if you want a peaceful holiday.

Wonderful family hotel, everyone is so helpful and friendly, and a lovely place to relax away from all the other 'noisy' hotels. In walking distance of many restaurants and shops, this is a self catering hotel (although they do have a continental breakfast), and all facilities if you wish to cook are included in the flats. A short walk from the beach and the harbour. Couldn't have made a better choice.

Having visited in September 2023 we were excited to be going back. Nice welcome from the family and the top floor apartment with balconies either side was very spacious and had great views. However there were some issues this time. The first thing we noticed was there were no sun loungers on our large balcony so asked for some several times and they finally appeared a few days later. No sink or bath plugs anywhere so had to request one which took a couple of days. The most worrying was that we were left with bare wires protruding from the small balcony wall after reporting that the outside light wasn't working. The technician arrived with a lightbulb only to realise that the whole fitment needed replacing and having removed it he didn't reappear with a new one until two days later after we had complained. Perhaps it would be better if they spent a little bit more time on maintenance and repairs during the winter period? Nothing seemed to get done without having to ask several times. In view of the above and the laid back attitude we will not be returning.

We had a wonderful stay. The apartment was spacious and airy, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. If you are looking for peace and quiet, I cannot recommend this place enough. There was no scramble for the sun loungers!!! Conveniently situated, whilst quiet it was a stones throw away from the supermarket and car hire businesses. The beach and harbour were a short stroll away. All staff were friendly, courteous and very helpful. The owner went out of her way to accommodate our needs when we had a late coach transfer back to the airport. I particularly loved the pool as it was a decent size and deep enough to get a good swim in. There is separate, shallow area for children too. This accommodation represents excellent value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

My first impression wasn’t that great - whether it was because there were several other guests checking in at the same time, but it wasn’t quite clear where my room was. After a few minutes, lugging a big suitcase around, I found it on the 2nd floor and hoisted up the very heavy case. There my grumpiness ended. The studio apartments are lovely and light. They’ve got high ceilings and windows and balconies on both sides of the building, with great if differing views on either side. There’s also sun loungers, chairs and a table for you to sit out on if you want more privacy . Having read previous reviews, I found the bed was really comfy with lots of soft pillows to choose from. The cleaners pop in and change towels every couple of days and make the beds. Shampoos and soaps were not replenished but not sure if I was meant to ask for this. The hotel and Cala’n Bosch in general feel like very safe places to be. No- one hassled you at the beaches or in any tourist areas . In the room, there is a key provided for the safe to keep your valuables in I didn’t spend much time enjoying the hotel though the gardens with hibiscus and lemon trees were a delight and the pool looked immaculate. Whilst there are many sun loungers round the pool, some are cracked and need replacing. Club Ciudadela was a great base to explore Menorca and the bus network is very good. The nearby beaches are also lovely and easily accessible. As is the marina and lighthouse. Breakfast is good and the people very friendly. Didn’t see many people at breakfast and suspect many were self catering. It was so peaceful and quiet. The wifi is very intermittent and it was necessary to log in several times a day. Also, if you are looking for English TV channels these did not appear to work very well. I reported this to the hotel and a technician was supposed to check. It didn’t bother me much as had books to read but for hardcore telly ******* that might be hard. These were just minor ******* and I enjoyed my stay immensely and would definitely recommend to friends and family. Thank you to Club Ciudadela for such a great stay.

This place was lovely, setting was fantastic and quiet handy things to do beach is about a 5 minute walk and marina about 6 minutes. Apartments are basic and simple but you don’t really use them much because you’re in the pool or adventuring out and about. The Wi-Fi is not fantastic asks you to sign in all the time which is quite annoying. At Cala n’ Bosch is the choice of 2 beaches. Everything was nice supermarket about a 1 minute walk from the apartments. The bathroom gets very slippy when it gets wet and the toilets are hard to flush as this attempt may take a few times to flush. Apart from that I really enjoyed this apartment and will be definitely back.😊😊

Very spacious apartment, kept spotlessly clean but is tired and in need of some updates. Location wise it is great, within a 5 minute (10 minutes if you are strolling) walk to both the Cala en Bosc beach and the marina, with a bus stop 2/3 minutes walk away with regular busses to Ciutadella de Menorca. All you would need is included, and a microwave is available on request. Beds are typically very hard as usual in Spanish resorts, we ended up using the cushions from the 2 large settee's in the main room to give us a little bit more comfort, but like I say, this isn't unusual for Spanish apartments. AirCon would be a great improvement, our room was at the rear of the first block of apartments with a North facing view over the surrounding countryside, which usually would have been a disappointment as we got no sun at all on our balcony, but as it turned out this was an advantage as the room didn't get any heat from the sun during the day. This would have made it very hot indeed. The room had 2 floor standing fans, which were definitely needed. We visited in September, and whilst it was very warm, I would dread to think how hot it would have been in July/August. The bar didn't seem to open on an evening, but as you are so close to the Marina with it's bars and restaurants, wasn't much of a problem, however, it might have been nice to have the option. The pool is great, as long as you are a confident swimmer and have no accessibility issues. It is 2.4m deep for most of it, and quite a large area, so good for swimming. but there is no walk-in access to the main pool and the shallow area is completely separate, so the only way out is via a pool ladder. Even the shallow area was a problem for a couple of people we spoke to as there isn't a hand rail, so anyone who is a little unsteady on their feet might have a problem getting in or out confidently. All in all, these are apartments, not a hotel, so a good base for visiting this part of Menorca, no frills, but everything you would need (except aircon).

Beautiful apartment complex run by lovely people who go the extra mile to make your stay happy, location is perfect for walking to all cala'n bosch as to offer. only slight down side is the drop off and collection point if you're on a coach transfer, a specially if it's raining or like us thunder and lightning.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Club Ciudadela! The location is great, at the end of a quiet street so no noisy traffic. The apartments either look out towards the pool or open countryside, or if you're lucky, both! The apartments and studios are spacious, comfortable and clean. We stayed on a self catering basis and had everything we needed. All the staff we came across were extremely friendly and helpful. We have already booked for next year and can't wait to go back!
