To whom this may concern, I am a resident in Canada who went on vacation to Italy (with my partner) and was having tremendous trouble with my room in Sorrento. Upon arrival, we noticed the room was very dirty. The front door had mold growing out of the walls from humidity. This could be smelled in the room. Hot water was turned off and a plethora of problems followed. Shower heads and coffee machine had mold growing out of them. No soap was left in the room. Hot water only came on much later during our stay. The toilet (not to be graphic) still had streaks and stains under the bowl. The sink had wet blonde hair and men's beard hair (or worse) still stuck to it. A dirty straw was left in the fridge. Some furniture (like the sofa and toilet paper holder) were completely broken and loose. The drain of the shower was blocked and would over flow, leaving floods before you could even take a fast body shower. And the list goes on. Being frustrated, we took all of this on video and/ or picture and decided to contact the hotel. Upon telling the hotel manager (Tomas) about these inconveniences, we were told that our stay would be refunded and that they would move us to a better room free of charge (this is also recorded in our conversations). The following day, when getting back to our new "supposedly better" room. We realized that the cleaning lady had left our door completely unlocked when moving our bags. This left our passports, money, jewelry and much more very easily accessible for others to steal. Once again, conversations and pictures to prove this were kept. Additionally, the downstairs door leading into the building was and is always left open by other residents in the building, leaving both doors open to anyone who might walk in. Having had our things unlocked and unattended all day was very worrisome (especially being in a city known for pickpocketing). So, again we passed the message to the hotel manager. Who acted on emotion and took offense to us saying Napoli was a city of theft. We also noticed we were given only 1 roll of toilet paper. No soap. The new coffee machine also had mold floating in it. Little bugs were found in the bed which left me with bites upon waking up (again pictures and videos taken). The back patio door was also left wide open by Marinella (cleaning lady who never cleaned a thing) when arriving, letting not only all the air conditioning out of the room but also leaving it exposed to bugs and birds to come in as they please. No cleaning services were offered during the day. Beds were not done. Soap, towels and toilet paper were never refilled. No plungers in both bathrooms. At this point, we were very frustrated and told the manager Tomas to come see us in-person so we could stop losing precious vacation time arguing and insisting to fix problems with our room.
