Villa la Terrazza Suites

The outside of this villa was absolutely beautiful! We booked, and were shown a beautiful room with a walkout patio overlooking the beautiful water. Our room was not ready when we arrived when we finally were given a room we were told we were being upgraded to a larger apartment. This apartment was called Paradise and it was in the basement. The room was very dirty and moldy. The counters had coffee stains. The floors were filthy. The patio was disgusting. They were pizza, crumbs, and pizza grease on the ledge on the patio and there was an ashtray with a bunch of cigarettes in it. I use the shower only one of the two days because I couldn't think about putting my bare feet in that shower again, I even hovered over the toilet. I messaged Cara one of the owners about the condition of the apartment, and I heard nothing. I asked for another room and was told we couldn't switch because they were booked. Fortunately, we were able to stay outside most of the time because my asthma was bothering me. It was gorgeous out there. We then met Andrea, who is supposedly another owner, he came up with some story about Cara and that was why there was no communication. The next afternoon they did come and they did clean the porch but that didn't take care of the mold or the dirty floors and counters. Please look at the pictures I post for this, and do not make the same mistake as we did. On a positive note, Capri was absolutely gorgeous, so please make sure you go there! I like

Not as pictured on *********** at all! Run down, old everything in apartment. We thought it was a hotel - Checked into an old dated apartment facing a parking lot on a busy street. Not facing sea as stated. We stayed 30 minutes and left. Unfortunately we lost all our money but it just wasn’t worth being unhappy for 3 nights.

This is our third third stay at Villa La Terazza since 2016 and we had a fabulous experience. The view is unparalleled. Cara is the one to ask for and work with. She arranged transport for our family from Rome, boat tours of the Amalfi coast, a private cooking course held in the villa on the terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples, and transport back to Rome. We are a family with 2 preteen kids and we had plenty of space in the Il Golfo apartment, newly updated with a beautiful new bathroom. If you want a cookie cutter chain hotel experience (snore!) this is not for you. However, if you want an authentic Italian building with beautiful history, you will love it. You are walking distance to everything. If you are a light sleeper, put on our white noise app because Sorrento likes to have fun at night and some of the music from the beach clubs can be heard. We found that fun as we sat on the terrace with our wine relaxing after being out and about during the day. Thank you Cara for another great family vacation ❤️

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! I VISITED THIS PROPERTY IN 2011 AND IT AND THE OWNER WERE AMAZING !!! I BOOKED THIS IN AUGUST 2022 FOR A STAY IN JUNE 2023 TO BE SURE TO GET EVERYONE IN THE SMAE PLACE (16) FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I CONTRACTED WITH ANDREA ALMOST A YEAR IN ADVANCE DIRECTLY FOR TRANSPORTATION FROM THE NAPOLI TRAIN STATION TO THE VILLA. HE ABANDONDED US AT THE TRAIN STATION. TURNS OUT WE LEARNED FROM TAXI DRIVERS THAT THERE WAS A WRECK ON A TWO LANE ROAD AND NOTHING HAD MOVED FOR 2 HOURS. WE CONTACTED ANDREA AND HE SAID HE HAD TWO VEHICLES THERE WAITING AT THE LIBRARY NEXT TO THE TRAIN STATION. THAT WAS NOT TRUE!!! AND HIS BEHAVIOR WENT DOWNHILL FROM THERE. WE GOT A LOCAL TRRAIN FROM NPLES TO SORRENTO, GOT OUR OWN TRANSPORT TO THE VILLA AND NO ONE WAS THERE TO GIVE US OUR KEYS. AFTER AN HOUR A COUPLE WHO SPOKE NON ENGLISHN SHOWED UP TO GIVE OUR ROOMS. DO NOT GET THE PARADISE ROOMS . . . THEY ARE NOT CLEAN SMELL MUSTY AND THE BUNKBEDS ARE AWFUL!!! THE NEXT DAY WER WERE SUPPOSED TO TRAVEL BY BOAT TO CAPRI . . . ANDREA HAAD TOLD ME ERLIER HE HAD PURCHASEDD TWO NEW BOATS AND WE WOULD LEAVE AT 9 AM. HE DID NOT HAVE TWO NEW BOATS AND SPENT THE MORNING CONTACTING CAPTAINS TO GET US TO CAPRI. WE WERE 3 HOURS LATE STARTING, AND HE ORDERED THE BOATS BACK EARLY. WE BASICALLY MISSED OUR ENTIRE CAPRI EXPERIENCE. THE NEXT DAY WE TOOK TRIP (ON OUR OWN) TTO POMPEII AND WERE 30 MINUTES LATE GETTIING BACK TO THE VILLA BECAUSE OF THE TRAIN SCHEDULE . . . AND ANDREA GAVE US A TONGUE LASHING BECAUSE HE WAS WAITING TO TAKE US TO POSITANO FOR THE DAY!!!!! ON THE WAY BACK FROM Positano TO THE VILLA HE HAD THREE VEHICLES WITH OUR GROUP IN THEM AND HE AND HIS DRIVERS DID PERSONAL ERRANDS ON THE WAIT BACK TO THE VILLA !!!!! THEN THE DAY WE CHECKED OUT HE PROVIDED THE VEHCHICLES WE HAD CONTRACTED WITH HIM TO TAKE US TO THE NAPLES TRAIN STATION, AND HE TOLD THE DRIVERS TO TAKE US TO THE AIRPORT!!!! THERE ARE MANY MORE DIFFICULTIES TO MENTION BUT I WOULD JUST SAY . . . THERE ARE TWO ANDREAs . . . WE MET AND SPENT TIME WITH THE GOOD ONE IN 2011 AND WE HAD THE BAD ONE IN 2023. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE SOOOO EMBARRASSED AND ASHAMED IN FRONT OF OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!! NOTHING CAN MAKE UP FOR THAT !!!

This Villa is in THE absolute best location in the historic city center of Sorrento. We had a a magical week in this beautiful setting. The accommodations, are basic but you are not staying here for a room. You are staying here for the absolute beauty of the Terrace, the marina with ferry service is right below you, no need for taxis as the city center is a block away, the market is 5 minutes by foot and the train station is about a 9 minute walk. The very best restaurants are within a 1 to 2 minute walk as well. THIS IS NOT A HOTEL. Do not expect that level of service, this is a private villa and it is worth every penny. There was nothing better than coming "home " after a day of touring. The peace, serenity and beauty of the villa made this an unforgettable vacation. The air conditioning worked well, we had hot water everyday, the pool was clean and deliciously cool on the hot days of August. We would go out to dinner, stroll in town and return to the villa every evening and sit on the terrace with our wine and listen to music coming from the hotel next door, looking out over Vesuvius and watching the stars and the sea. If you need pampering and concierge, this is NOT the place for you. If you are a well traveled INDEPENDANT individual who truly wants to feel the magic of Sorrento , this is, hands down, the place you want to be. I will be returning to this villa next year. An unforgettable experience in an unforgettable location. Ciao!

We stayed in the IL Golfo apartment for 10 days and it was a positive stay apart from a few irritating incidents. The apartment opens on to a patio area with an outdoor kitchen which then opens on to a large terrace with breathtaking views! We were advised that this terrace was private to our apartment but we did have some issues with people wandering on to our part of the terrace and a couple of times, people tried to walk in to our apartment! We were also told by another guest that she had assumed the outdoor kitchen was communal and had been helping herself to coffee and milk from the fridge, which was ours! When people arrive, they should be told clearly that that part of the terrace is private and the outdoor kitchen was also private. I think there is a bit of a communication problem between the owners and the guests. And apart from the owner Andrea deciding to blast extremely loud music on Saturday evening and on a Sunday morning while we were sitting on the terrace, everything else was fine. There were a couple of other irritating things but too small to detail. Location couldn’t be any better and the villa itself is lovely, little bit shabby in places and one of our beds needs to be replaced, but didn’t detract from our stay. The owner advised us he lived on site so I think that he needs to decide if he is running a fabulous place to stay and remember that the needs of said guests come first before his own needs. If that happens, then this would be without doubt one of the best places to stay in Sorrento!

Magic atmosphere! The terrace overlooks the bay ; the sunset is unforgettable here We have spent some days in this charming Relais Do not loose to drink a glass of wine on the romantic terrace or to swim in the precious pool with view on the ocean and the Vesuvio

Cute villa in a great location. We stayed in Il Pino with 4 people. It had 2 bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower stall. There was a kitchen with a stove and microwave. There was also a washing machine but only the staff can operate it. They will wash your clothes, upon request, but they return it wet. You hang your clothes to dry. The beds were comfortable and there were enough towels. There was fantastic air conditioning. There was a view of Mt. Vesuvius and the bay from our front door and one bedroom window. There were large stained glass windows facing the private driveway in the kitchen and sitting area. There is a pool and beautiful terrace. There is also an outside shower. In Il Pino, we didnt have hot water in the late afternoon/evening for 2 of our 3 nights. It was nice to talk to Andrea, the owner, and learn about the history of the villa and surrounding area. He is very social and very busy as he is the only one at the property, so its best if you dont need anything. We did not utilize any of his services (transfers or boat). I would recommend this Villa but you have to be a go-with-the-flow type person.

We were supposed to get a van for four passengers and luggage. An hour later a small beat up car barely able to fit four people picked us up. Missing bumper, had to stack the luggage next to us and three of us in the front seat. Driver had to stop and get gas, couldnt speak English and got lost several times. We still had to pay the 130 euro even though originally we had an option to pay 100 Euro for a car. I opted for the van since we knew it would be larger. We paid in full for a 3 bedroom apartment with a washing machine. He showed us to two rooms. No living room like in the photos, no washing machine. I explained that we paid for 3 bedrooms and he just told us that he rented it to someone else. What?? I asked for a refund for the difference and he said we got a good deal and kept pointing to the 5 star Excelsior next door. Then he said he could easily rent it out to someone else. At that point, we had no choice but to grin and bear it... Then when our wonderful driver (Sorrento Tours) called the owner the evening before our departure, the ownee emailed me and said he could take us to the airport for 130 Euro and that we owed a city sales tax that we were not aware of. How could he even think we would book transportation with him??? Sorrento Tours picked us up in a nice Van with a driver in a nice suit, spoke English, had water for us, plenty of room for 120 Euro Oh! The owner was sure to meet us to get our 15 Euro pp upon our departure. Do not trust the owner/management.
