Big4 Launceston Holiday Park

Easy to get to with GPS. Check in was easy, done online before we arrived. As it was August the park was not overly busy. We had a Tamar villa which was nice. Facilities are good, used laundry $4.00 for machine and also $4.00 for dryer. It is close to main road so has potential to be bit noisy, but was not too bad while we were here. It is close driving distance to cataract gorge. Also jumping pillow for kids. We walked to coles and also had dinner at pub 10 minutes walk All Year Round Hotel, highly recommend.

We stayed on a concrete powered site. It was very close to the modern, very clean amenities block. We loved it here. Lady at reception was lovely and gaves us pamphlets for the area of Launceston. Highly recommend this park. Close to everything.

We loved our stay at this caravan park. for the following reasons: The bright, cheery reception we received on arrival - THANK YOU for making us feel so welcome and taking an interest in why we were in Tasmania The VERY clean, well appointed, comfortable cabin The layout of the park The gorgeous carved wombats with their square poo The view from our cabin The great amenities provided including the towels and face washers which were new, soft and clean. We stayed here during a really bad weather event in Tasmania. The cabin was really cosy, as was the bed when we lost power during the bad storm! Power was out all over southern Launceston. The cabin had emergency lighting which was very welcome. Thank you to everyone there.

It was easy to find the park and the staff at reception were lovely and provided us with park and local information. Once we were on our powered site, we were a little dismayed about the sound of the traffic (mostly the large freight lorries) from the nearby Midland Highway and were concerned about how loud it could be. As we had planned to stay four nights, we thought we would stay the first night to see how it went overnight. Thankfully, it wasn’t as bad as we feared, and we did end up staying all four nights. We found that the stated “Walking Distance To The City & Gorge” was not quite ‘for us’ even though we are fit and had done a lot of walking in our previous two months around Tasmania. According to Google, it would have been a 2.5kms (@40mins) walk to the Cataract Gorge Information Centre and 3.6kms (52mins) to the National Automobile Museum of Tasmania, which were two places we wanted to go, and not exactly picturesque roads. On the good side, taxis/ubers were not expensive and prompt. Both tourist sites were also excellent. The facilities were also excellent and the park itself well maintained and a lovely area around our campsite with distant views over Launceston. It was certainly a good place to stay and, taking into account the possible road noise, we would stay here again.

Upon arrival, we found that the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The amenities were excellent, always clean and well serviced. It was within a five minute drive to Launceston CBD, so really close to all the attractions that the city has to offer. All the fellow travellers respected the park rules so we had a peaceful experience whilst staying there.

We stayed 3 nights, what a great location so close to the Launceston CBD, the staff at reception were so friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to accommodate us, we had a great site overlooking the city lights, The facilities were everything that we required. Will be a fantastic park when the upgrades are completed.

We had the pleasure of staying in two cabins (no 14 and 18) which were spectacular! The Cabins have all the modern amenities and are beautify appointed. The views were also a treat and can be enjoyed on the ample outdoor decks. You want for nothing if you book here. Jo and her office team were great to deal with and were very accommodating, as we booked at late notice and then asked to stay longer. We has a 5 star visit!

This a great pick for us with location and the things we wanted to see in the area. We had purchased a 21”6 van before our holiday (upgrading from an 18”6) and I was advised that the site we had been booked on would fit. On arrival we found we hung out on the road. The lady in the office went above and beyond to see what else she had available and managed to shuffle a few sites around to ensure our stay was comfortable. Thank you to so much must go to her for her assistance. Facilities are great, good showers and toilets. Clean washing machines and dryers. Nice and quiet

The villas are tiny, very cramped and not well furnished. The space provided was tiny, can’t imagine 4 people staying in this little cabin. It would be quite comfortable for 1 person. This was the most expensive place on our holiday and it was the worst accomodation. No bedside tables, no space to put luggage and the office is only open 9-5, with unhelpful reception. The camp kitchen is one table in the open, with a cooking bench. The barbecues did not work, half the got lights around the park did not work. Silly things were provided - a plastic pot planted lots of literature about the magnificent family in BIG4 Lindsay ark. The Villa cost over $200 for 1 night - ridiculous price for the amenities supplied.
