Tamworth Budget Motel

Was a nightmare - they cancelled my booking at short-notice! Have stayed at this motel previously & didn’t have a problem, but this 2nd stay was a disaster. Booked motel via Agoda, everything was confirmed & money was taken for our 2 night stay via Agoda. But when I rang the motel to double-check everything (on our way there), they said they had no booking for me! When I arrived just before 9pm (after travelling a long distance with children), they made up a couple of different excuses (eg maintenance, then plumbing issue) & said that they were booked out & had no way of contacting me to tell me about cancelling my room - even though Agoda usually relays info between motels booked & myself. *So after a 7hr drive I was stranded at night, in the rain with children & nowhere to sleep. *Agoda was also disgraceful in trying to help my children & I find somewhere else to stay (even though there were placesw available on their website). NEVER AGAIN!!!

I've stayed here a couple of times - and certainly will again. Best accommodation I've found in Tamworth, and definitely the cleanest. Highly recommended. Water pressure is great and solar system results in fabulous hot showers!

Absolutely no complaints. Our room was clean, warm, shower hot and strong. The beds were very comfortable. The usual coffee making facilities and a microwave. It is one of the original style of Motels but I find them novel as I grew up with them. It is very well maintained. Howard is doing a good job. We will return. Thank you.

TERRIBLE. We decided to forfeit what we had paid and find another motel because an unknown smell at the single bed end of the room set off our allergies to such an extent that we just had to leave. The lady in reception agreed, but said the smell was outside - not in the room. The reason we opened the window was to try to clear the smell. She refused to give us even a partial refund.

I have stayed at this motel a number of times and have been quiet satisfied until recently whereby I made a booking for two nights via Bookings.com My booking was confirmed via Bookings.com 1 day prior to arrival at the motel. The motel later attempted to contact me via email & mobile phone but I was not in a service area at the time. When I returned to a service area I received the messages from the motel. The motel only wanted to confirm my time of arrival. If I was to arrive after 11pm they wanted my credit card detail .... I was ok with that. I did not intend arriving that late. I called the Motel at approx 11:30am the morning of the booking and was told since I did not respond that they let my room go. When I explained that I was not in a position to receive messages prior to my phone call, they just said it was their policy to 'let the room go' if they don't receive a response. When I advised I had a confirmation from Bookings.com they didn't care. They advised I look for an alternate Motel. Fortunately I did get another Motel (359 in Tamworth) and I do recommend them. They were sympathetic and helpful when I told them the background. I find it totally unacceptable by Budget Motel Tamworth to do what they did. In my opinion they should not be on the Bookings.com platform. I will be making an official complaint to Bookings.com (if I can get a msg to them, but that is another story!) I stay semi frequently in Tamworth but I will never stay with this Motel again!

Good shower & comfy bed. Exhaust fan,ceiling corners & walls in bathroom very dirty.Open drain plug in sink-no plug. Main room walls dirty Jug had to be taken off base to make it stop boiling. Bedside lamp very dusty. Room smelt very strange.
