During our stay, parts of the hotel were still being fitted out, and we could hear a lot of noise from the room we were allocated (next to the yet to be completed indoor pool). Management were able to offer us a different room away from the noise, but this one had problems with its toilet flush. It took several visits from maintenance until it was properly fixed, and in the meantime we suffered a sleepless night due to the toilet flushing continuously.
Some of the rooms had bathrooms with exterior windows but no curtains, and others, including ours, had no curtains on the glass doors between the bathroom and the bedroom. We were told that curtains were on order, so this could just be a temporary problem, and after a few days one was put up in our bathroom.
The sea views and the pool area were fantastic, and breakfast was good and cooked to order. Parking on the street was fairly easy to find, and free of charge.
There aren't many restaurants within walking distance, but it's very easy to get a bus or taxi to nearby St Paul's Bay or Mellieha, which have numerous options.
We feel that this hotel was opened before it was really ready, and the quality suffered as a result. Improvements are being made, so hopefully the guest experience is improving.
While the management did make efforts to address our concerns, we were surprised that we weren't offered any compensation for the problems we encountered.
