"We rented a spacious room with two beds and a kitchen. For an older property, the facilities are well-maintained. The bedding was clean. We appreciated the conveniences like the large refrigerator in the kitchen, the coffee machine with coffee, microwave, cups, and well-stocked toiletries. The staff were also very friendly. The location is excellent. Transportation is convenient, and if you have the time, you can walk to many nearby places, including downtown. We were able to take a morning stroll to the subway station to buy a one-day pass (which is only sold there), which helped us save on transportation costs. The beach and a lovely park are close by. There's an array of restaurants and shops in the vicinity, with more extending along the main bus routes. Along that same street, there are also many Korean restaurants. The neighborhood's side streets are clean and beautiful. Compared to other areas, there are very few homeless people, making it safe and secure even at night. We had a very comfortable stay."

"Really surprised by this hotel. High-IQ, diverse staff (they have many languages covered) that had better service than many 5-stars I have stayed at: #1: I extended my stay through trip.com; normally, this is a comedy of errors: housekeepers knocking in the morning, front desk calling and asking when I'll be leaving, etc. This hotel handled everything perfectly without bothering me. On trip.com, you can make special room requests, but this is the first place that actually followed it automatically! #2: Smart facilities choices: QUIET door closers (this is a bigger deal than people realize; most hotels have cheap auto door closers that slam the doors, so your mornings start with the sound of slamming doors at 6AM.), huge in-room refrigerators (small ones probably cost the same, but are useless for guests), lovely patios looking at the Minoru Park, #3: Great location near a large mall and restaurants. Areas of improvement: Breakfast was quite good, though I wish they had hash browns and they need to refrigerate the cream cheese (it says so on the label); had some bad stomach issues with that or maybe the shared serving utensils. Rooms could just use some touch up paint on the metal door frames and some parts of the walls. It would be fast and easy to have maintenance do one room a day. Finally, the air conditioners (heat pumps) are pretty noisy at times. Bring ear plugs."

"I don’t have high requirements for youth hostels, but the health, service, and environment are really average. It can only be said that it is liveable, cheap and not too demanding. It is very expensive to stay in the city center."

"Just like its sister property (Seymour), this hostel boasts an excellent downtown location—less than a 5-minute walk from Waterfront Station and only 200 meters from the iconic Gastown Steam Clock. Potential guests should note that two resident cats roam the first floor and the kitchen area. The hostel is spotlessly clean, with staff continuously maintaining it throughout the day. While the common room and kitchen are spacious and bright, my 8-bed dorm was small and dark. The beds are comfortable and some feature privacy curtains, though they lack personal reading lamps or power outlets. Be forewarned: rooms, especially those facing the bar side, are incredibly noisy, with loud music blasting until 2 AM, particularly on weekends."

"I had a great experience at The Cambie Hostel Seymour. The location is excellent and very convenient for exploring Vancouver. The hostel was clean, comfortable, and well-managed. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist whenever needed. The facilities met my expectations, and I felt safe throughout my stay. As a solo traveler, I found the atmosphere warm, welcoming, and enjoyable. One of the best things about this hostel is its convenient location near Waterfront Station. It was very easy to travel from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to the hostel using public transportation, as Waterfront Station is the last stop on the Canada Line, and the hostel is only a short walk away. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would happily stay here again and recommend it to other travelers."
