"This B&B was a real surprise. The entire staff had the same down-to-earth, village-style simplicity. No one offered me a smiley face or fruit to get me to give them a good review. The experience was so wonderful I couldn't resist sharing it with everyone. We originally booked a bathtub suite, but the host proactively upgraded us to a room above with a lake view. The room was actually quite full during our stay. We then realized the two suites were located in the same courtyard. The 270-square-meter lake view suite had a view of the lake and a small, self-contained hot spring pool. The bathtub suite downstairs also had a nice terrace, but it required walking down one flight of stairs, making it less convenient and the view less impressive. We stayed in the courtyard for two or three more days. In the morning, the host brought breakfast to the courtyard, but you could eat in your room if you wanted. We even encountered a little squirrel in the courtyard. It quietly emerged, only to be startled and hide. In the morning, you could hear roosters crowing and birds chirping, which was quite pleasant considering the 20-degree temperature at Fuxian Lake.
