I found this guesthouse as I was driving up the G331 from Erguna to Beijicun as part of my 2 0 day road trip loop from the northernmost part of China to A'ershan and back. Mo'edaogazhen is a very small, quiet town and I was the only guest in this guesthouse. I got a friendly welcome when I arrived by the Auntie and Uncle. I was welcomed to my room and got settled in. As an Englishman, I had to go down to the police station and then to another hotel to have my location registered - a Chinese Government requirement. The boss jumped in the car and saw me get it sorted nice and smoothly with no hassle. The room was nice and comfy and in the traditional wooden style which suited my trip well. A couple of improvements would be to make sure the room has a kettle on arrival and that the shower won't flood for other guests. But no harm done, I slept well and enjoyed plenty of Gongfu tea sessions. As I left, the Auntie/Sister gave me two Russian pastries which I was very appreciative of. Things like this leave a lasting impression, especially for us foreign travellers. I ended up driving from Erguna to Beijicun via the G331 - the most isolated section in the nation - and these pastries saw me through the journey well. Thank you both and Happy Chinese New Year!

(I walked to the wetland, just along Jinque Street. The taxi driver on the way back was dishonest; he didn't use the meter and charged me 10 yuan! He even tried to make money off my trip to the National Wetland and Birch Forest, so of course I didn't take him! 😡😡) She also recommended a wonderful driver named ”Jing,” who was kind and fair-priced! Because there are no longer large buses running to the National Wetland and Birch Forest after the pandemic, you can only hire a car or share a ride… After going to the National Wetland first, I found that the birch trees had very few leaves left. On the driver's suggestion, I went to Heishantou instead. She even found me a girl from Hunan to share a ride with. The trip was very rewarding and enjoyable! If it weren't for witnessing two cars hitting and killing two cows crossing the road on the way back—the front of the cars was completely destroyed, and the drivers had to be hospitalized—everything would have been perfect!
