"The staff was very lovely and helpful, even without speaking English. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we had access to an (old but functioning) washing machine, which was very helpful. The location is great, right inside the Muslim Quarter but in a quieter area. It’s still convenient, with about a 5-minute walk to reach a Didi or the metro. However, both rooms we saw faced a light well rather than having an actual view. The main difference was the floor level, the room on the 2nd floor was significantly darker than the one we moved to, despite looking similar in the photos online. We would have been quite disappointed if we hadn’t been able to change rooms. Thankfully, the staff accommodated our request, which made the stay much more comfortable. It might be worth clarifying this in the listing to better manage expectations."

"My first time trying this place, and I thought it was great! I booked the cheapest room, which I think was a 16-person dorm, but the front desk lady upgraded me to a 12-person one. I even extended my stay for another night. The environment inside is quite peaceful. Everyone in the common areas is pretty respectful, except for a few loud shouts during billiards sometimes! Oh, and there were a lot of foreigners, couples mostly, chatting among themselves – it had a nice vibe. Since it was my first time, I wasn't familiar with everything and didn't prepare toiletries. When I went to shower, I even saw two guys coming out of the same stall, which honestly stunned me a bit. However, the privacy in the restrooms and shower rooms is excellent; they're all enclosed. The hot water comes on quickly, the water pressure is strong, and everything is clean. Everyone seemed pretty well-behaved. I mostly kept to myself, though, and didn't really interact with anyone. At one point, a foreigner asked me in English if he could use a stool. I honestly didn't understand anything he said, but I got his meaning and just waved my hand. He must have thought I was refusing him because he started to leave. I was so flustered I couldn't speak, just waving my hands around like fans, trying to convey my meaning. He must have seen my panic and understood, so he moved the stool. Only then could I relax and continue drinking my hot water alone. (I saw the front desk staff, both a guy and a lady, speaking English with the foreigners, and I was so envious! Ugh, I can only read English; I can't understand or speak it. I really need to practice my listening and speaking skills. I'll try my luck again next time.) Overall, I think it's a pretty good place. Oh, and its location is fantastic, right by the Bell Tower. But make sure you exit the correct subway station, or else a directionally challenged person like me will spend almost an hour wandering around trying to find it!"

"This stay was a wonderful surprise! The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around and dining. As soon as I entered the room, it felt clean and fresh, with no strange odors. The bed was just right—not too soft, not too hard—and I slept very soundly. The front desk staff were warm, polite, and handled check-in quickly and efficiently. The room amenities were complete, hot water was stable, and the soundproofing was good, so it was incredibly quiet at night. The cleanliness details were well-maintained, and the value for money is definitely there. Next time I'm in the area, this will be my top choice, and I highly recommend it to everyone!"

"The apartment's location is excellent, right next to Yongningmen subway station, very close to both the subway and bus stops, making travel incredibly convenient. The room is clean, tidy, and spacious, just like in the promotional pictures. All toiletries are provided, and there's a wardrobe with hangers for clothes. It also features a kitchen and dining area, a small fridge, and a washing machine, among other amenities. Supplies are replenished daily. The owner was incredibly warm and thoughtful, contacting us in advance with directions to the apartment and even giving us detailed travel tips. We could reach out directly with any questions or needs, and responses were very prompt. Overall, the stay was fantastic, offering great value for money. Highly recommend!"

"If you can find the hotel (see below) it is a great place to stay! The view on the roof top is amazing. We had a room with an attached living room with was really nice. It was the hardest hotel to find. Especially since the name they gave you on the reservation isn’t the same as the actual hotel (at least in English). The GPS directions aren’t precise either. To get to the hotel you have to go in a store on the second floor and find the reception desk which is not even indicated. It’s like they made it on purpose to make this impossible to find! Here’s a photo of the store in question from the street, so you don’t have all the trouble we had to locate it. I wish the hotel would have provided better indications, it isn’t that hard."

"The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, within walking distance of the Tang Dynasty Never Sleeping City! The room was clean and tidy with no unpleasant odors, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the facilities were complete and functioning perfectly. The front desk service was warm and efficient, and check-in and check-out were smooth. Excellent value for money; I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time!"

"Hua Yu Hotel: The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, the facilities were excellent, and everything was spotless. The towels and bath towels in the bathroom were very clean. Since the hotel only opened in 2024, there was no new renovation smell, and many facilities are brand new. The location is superb, right in the city center near the Bell Tower. There are many street food options nearby, all within 200-300 meters. The subway entrance is right downstairs, making it very convenient for getting around. Downstairs, you can also find tour groups for attractions like Hukou Waterfall, Mount Hua, and the Terracotta Warriors. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit."

"Great value stay in a prime location! I had a wonderful 5-night stay at the Pod Inn Yanxuan Hotel as a solo traveler. The location is fantastic for exploring Xi'an, being so close to the Yongningmen Metro Station and the City Wall. It made getting around the city incredibly easy, and there are tons of great food options nearby . The room was consistently clean and well-maintained, and the daily housekeeping service was a nice touch . The staff were friendly and patient, always ready to help with a smile. For the price, the service and convenience are hard to beat, making it a perfect base for any traveler."

"I loved the localization of this hostel. It's inside of the Muslim quarter, so you get the full street food experience and there's a lot to see. I feel like the Muslim quarter was the most lively place in the city, and there's always a reason for it: people like me love it! The rooms were very clean and tidy, I liked that there where places for you to but your stuff in the bed space, it felt cozy. The air conditioner worked well, but turned off after some time, which was not super nice. The bathrooms were kind of dirty, with lots of hair in the ground. I get that people shower in the bathroom, but I noticed that even after cleaning staff had just cleaned, there was still hair, and the bathroom was super wet, making it difficult to use. The staff didn't speak english at all, but used translation devices when necessary, which is ok. Overall, it was a good stay and I would do it again, but there could be more attention regarding toilet cleaning."

"Stayed at this hotel across 3 bookings, the front desk staff were very attentive and even gave us a free room upgrade. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfy and the linens were clean. There is good WiFi in each room alongside free water and free laundry. The AC is good and there is a window in the room with a net to prevent bugs from entering. Soundproofing was also good during our stay. The location was also excellent, with access to the metro less than 3 minutes away, right next to the bell tower and lots of food options and malls at your doorstep. The washing machine is a washer dryer combo so it takes quite a long time to dry, keep that in mind. There is only two machines for the entire hotel so you may also struggle to use them at times. It took 6 hours to wash and dry our clothes. Our only other gripe was the the bathroom does not have a proper door, rather a glass door that has gaps which isn’t very hygienic. There is a fan in the bathroom to help with the heat and humidity from the shower. Upon checkout we were allowed to stay a little longer as our flight was in the afternoon and a gift was also provided. Would highly reccomend to foreigners considering the price!"
