"The B&B is nice, but there was a problem when checking in. It was already past 8 o'clock when we arrived at the B&B on the evening of May 1st. The B&B was located on the roadside, not in the scenic spot. As soon as we parked the car, the staff selling tickets to the Xidi Scenic Area chased us to buy tickets for the scenic spot, which made you feel very upset. In fact, our plan was not to visit Xidi Scenic Area, but just to stay for one night. However, the result of the negotiation with the B&B owner at that time was that we would not be allowed to check in if we did not buy tickets for Xidi Scenic Area. This was really unacceptable to us. It was so late and it was May Day. We had children with us, and there were no rooms in the nearby B&Bs or hotels. In the end, it was Ctrip customer service who helped us coordinate the matter. The tickets had to be bought and the plan had to be adjusted. The adult ticket was 105 and the child ticket was 52. Such expensive tickets cannot be wasted! "I couldn’t say enough about how good my stay in Xidi was. The hostel has such a special atmosphere that you can’t help but relax. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the center of town, and the girls from the staff are so nice and attentive. I didn’t want to leave! Besides the lovely place where the hostel is located, the touristic part of Xidi is just amazing—it feels like the whole area is one huge artwork - just go and see it for yourself! Notes: The place isn’t difficult to find if you have a map on your phone, but be careful with the ditches if you arrive at night: although they’re illuminated, they have no railings. The 10-bed room doesn’t have a toilet, only a latrine. Every tourist must pay a fee of 52 yuan to enter the town, regardless of where they are staying."

Every shop in Bishan Village is interesting; it's not like those cookie-cutter commercial streets, perfect for leisurely exploration. I spent two days in Bishan Village. The guesthouse provides electric scooters, which you can use to explore nearby villages, the county town, and the ancient town, offering stunning views. The guesthouse also provided a complimentary hands-on experience. I chose the rubbing activity, and the prints were printed on a calendar! A unique Bishan Village calendar! Even though it was a complimentary voucher, the staff at the craft workshop were incredibly friendly, making for a very enjoyable experience. The auntie was also very gentle and attentive. Disposable toiletries were provided. I loved it! I'll definitely stay here again next time."

"The guesthouse is located within the Hongcun scenic area. After checking in, we discovered that the Shuren Hall, which is also a tourist attraction within the scenic area, was part of the guesthouse. The room was fantastic; the owner upgraded us to a double room for free. They were very attentive to the amenities; the shampoo and shower gel were Dove, which exceeded our expectations. The cleanliness was excellent, and the room was warm at night with the heating on. For lunch, we ate at the guesthouse, where the owner herself cooked stinky mandarin fish and braised bamboo shoots with cured pork. Both dishes were excellent. The mandarin fish was better than any I've had elsewhere, and the bamboo shoots were very tender and not greasy at all. The flavors were great, and I highly recommend it. We also tried the owner's homemade wine, which was wonderful. A very pleasant trip indeed! A heartfelt recommendation; you won't be disappointed."
