The location was convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions, restaurants, and transportation options, which made getting around very manageable. The hotel facilities were generally well-kept, and the common areas were clean and welcoming. While there is always room for minor improvements, the overall experience was positive and offered good value for the price paid. This property is a solid choice for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and reliable service. I would consider staying here again in the future."

"Exceeded my expectations! The owner (I think, haha) mentioned it's a hundred-year-old building, and I was initially worried it might be too old. But the room was super clean, simple yet perfectly adequate. The owner even helped me carry my heavy luggage upstairs and arranged for his colleague to help with the luggage when I checked out, plus free luggage storage. The owner is a European Chinese, very friendly. The location is excellent, not far from the train station and right by a main road, but it wasn't noisy at night. Overall, great value for money. And a shout-out to Trip.com for their responsive service!"

"The room was very clean, and the service was warm and attentive. It's not far from the airport, and the hotel offers a shuttle bus service to and from the airport. When I booked, I was a bit worried the room might be too small, but it turned out to be fine. The only slight issue was the limited space for hanging clothes; with our three large suitcases, the room felt a bit cramped. The breakfast had a great variety of bread and plenty of fruit. Plus, breakfast starts as early as 4 AM, which was super convenient for us as we had an early departure."

"This hostel is absolutely fantastic! The staff are so warm and attentive. Because the weather was quite cold, they provided hot water every day, which was a nice touch. The tram stop is less than a two-minute walk away, and the history museum is literally 30 seconds on foot. It's super convenient for getting to all the attractions. Plus, they have free dessert-making activities every afternoon. Honestly, the staff are amazing – this is the best hostel experience I've ever had."

"Seriously, no need to specifically stay at an all-female hostel for a single trip! No need at all! First, let's talk about the location. It's about a fifteen-minute walk from the metro station, and there are plenty of eateries and supermarkets along the way, but Amsterdam's food scene is just okay... To get to the city center's museums, it's a forty-minute journey involving a metro transfer to a tram. There's really no need to make a special effort to stay here. Plus, if you're unlucky, you might even encounter male maintenance workers on certain days, which makes it even less appealing. As for the bathroom lights, if no one is in the common area for a while, they automatically turn off. You have to step out of the shower stall and wave your hand to get them to turn back on."

"The hostel is conveniently located, with a bus stop just a two to three-minute walk away. It's also not far from the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, about a ten-minute walk. The front desk staff are enthusiastic and have a good attitude. Less positive experiences: 1. The room is quite small; there's hardly any space left after putting down luggage. 2. Cleanliness needs improvement. There were visible dirty marks on the duvet cover (picture 3), many small spots on the carpet (picture 5), and ants on the room walls and bed (picture 7). 3. There is no kettle. 4. The balcony is shared among several rooms (picture 8), and the room has no openable windows. If the balcony door is closed, the air doesn't circulate, but leaving it ajar feels unsafe. 5. Information displayed on the website platform is inconsistent with reality. For example, it shows 'laundry service' (picture 9), but the hostel actually doesn't have a laundry room for guests. They only provide addresses of external laundromats for guests to take their clothes to themselves."

"The hotel room was extremely small, and climbing the ladder to the bed was difficult. Even in the lower-bed rooms, there wasn’t enough space to properly stretch your legs because the roof was too low. It was very cramped, and moving around inside the room was uncomfortable. Although the staff was nice."

"The hotel entrance is tiny, and you have to walk through a bar to get to the even tinier elevator. The room itself was also very small. Of course, it's good value for the price, and they even provided two complimentary bottles of water. The shared bathrooms were quite clean, regularly maintained, and had no unpleasant smells. It's small but has everything you need. If you're planning on staying in a hostel, this is a good option. However, if you have a suitcase, I strongly advise against staying here; it's simply too cramped, and you won't even be able to open your luggage. It's definitely more suited for backpackers."

"I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the service experienced during my recent stay at the Amsterdam Downtown Hotel from 28th May 2026 till 2nd June 2026 I travelled with my family for a 5-night stay, expecting a comfortable and pleasant experience, which unfortunately was not the case. During our stay, we were left without hot water for 2 full nights. This meant my family and I were completely unable to shower or maintain basic personal hygiene. Traveling with family makes this lack of basic services even more stressful and unacceptable for a hotel of your category. Despite raising this issue with your front desk, the problem persisted, significantly impacting our comfort and our overall vacation experience in Amsterdam. After writting 3 emails to them getting no response finally the recepcionist wrote me an email with the following excuse: “”We would like to clarify that this was not a complete absence of hot water during the first two nights, but rather a technical issue where the hot water was only temporarily and intermittently unavailable.”” And its NOT TRUE AT ALL. We stayed with NOT ACCESS to hot wáter during the first 2 days at all and NO techician came to sort it out at all and NO intermittently unavailable. I have requested with my 4th email a partial refund or appropriate compensation for the nights we were left without basic running hot wáter and the hotel managment doest wants to reply me at all about this. Very uypset !!"

"Hello Stayed one night from 13.10 to 14.10 The location is excellent Accommodation conditions are as in the description, the women's room has three showers and clean toilets, there is a hairdryer, a robe, a towel, and no slippers. The staff didn't seem very friendly to us. For one night we paid a deposit of 50 euros. Breakfast is available for an additional fee We lived on the top floor and the stairs were very steep It's okay to go up, it's scary to go down We slept in the upper capsule, the only inconvenience was the stairs in the capsule My rating from 10 points I give 7 points"
