"The location is quite convenient, within walking distance from the train station, and there's a supermarket about 100m away. Although I booked a single room, the bed was 1.5m, which was very spacious and comfortable for one person. The room wasn't small, very clean, and quite modernly decorated. It had a hairdryer, a kettle, and shower gel, plus plenty of power outlets. For 800 a night in Switzerland, I actually felt it was pretty good value for money 😁 Satisfied."

"The apartment was ordened, pleasantly calm and offered enough space. Specially beautiful was the relaxed atmosphere after a long day on the way. The equipment was completely sufficient for our stay."

"I was highly disappointed with my stay due to several major issues. First, the room description is completely misleading. I booked a room advertised with a ”City View,” but instead, I was given a room facing an inner courtyard with no city view whatsoever. Secondly, despite clearly booking for 2 guests, the room amenities were strictly prepared for just one person. We were only provided with one bath towel, one standard pillow, and one large pillow for two guests. Finally, the blanket was far too small for two guests sharing a Queen-size bed. Even though I am only 167 cm tall, it was impossible to cover my entire body. If I pulled the blanket up to cover my chest, my feet were exposed; if I covered my feet, my chest was exposed. What made it even more unreasonable was that the blanket was so narrow that it could only comfortably cover one person, despite being provided for a Queen-size bed intended for two guests. I would not recommend this property until these basic hospitality issues are addressed.

"Very cute and lovely hotel! Having stayed in many cities famous for small spaces, the compact room size here in Zurich wasn't a surprise to me. Even though it's not big, the hotel is very well equipped. You basically have all the amenities you need, such as cups, glasses, a safe, a working table, and even an iron! The staff are very friendly, and it's just a short walking distance from Zurich HB. It's also very easy to order Uber Eats here!"

"Great room which was well-designed with everything we needed. The service was excellent, despite not being staffed or having a reception desk at the property. The self check-in is very easy but unfortunately I had to contact the hotel to receive the information on how to do this as I hadn't received it. Once I'd checked in online I could see that they'd sent me some messages telling me how to do this, but I could only access this information once I'd already checked-in so I'm not sure how I was supposed to see the instructions before then. Thankfully it was easy to contact them and they were very helpful in sending me the information. They were also very speedy in providing extra pillows which we requested when we were there. As well as an improved system for sending the check-in information and additional pillows, extra hangers and hooks/rails to hang towels would be beneficial but these are all minor points. We were very happy with the room and the service we received."

"The biggest highlight of this hotel is its excellent location. Zurich's city center is quite small, perfect for a city walk. It's only a 5-minute walk from Zurich Main Station and a 10-minute walk to Bahnhofstrasse, a street bustling with luxury brands (next to Hermès is the top-rated Zeughauskeller restaurant, I highly recommend their pork knuckle set meal; there's also a LADERACH chocolate shop, their hazelnut chocolate is amazing). Lake Zurich is a 20-minute walk away, and a boat trip is incredibly enjoyable, with the sky and water blending seamlessly, offering natural comfort – 9.2 Swiss Francs for 1.5 hours. Nearby, there are two major Swiss supermarkets, Migros and Coop, making shopping and stocking up very convenient. A bit further away, there's a Lianhua Supermarket offering a full range of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean foods, which is a great relief for those craving Asian cuisine. The hotel rooms are generally very clean, the bathroom is particularly spacious, and the heating is excellent, making for a comfortable stay. The front desk offers complimentary sour green apples every day. The service from the Asian-looking staff was mediocre, but it didn't detract from the overall experience. The overall quality of Swiss people is very high. For example: 1. While navigating to ETH Zurich on the street, my navigation was a bit slow, and as I hesitated, someone immediately came over to ask where I was going and if I needed help. They also told me that ETH is equivalent to MIT in the US. 2. We bought a 24-hour public transport pass (9.4 Swiss Francs, allowing unlimited tram and bus rides within zone 110). Once, when riding a tram, we saw a male passenger running towards it. A female passenger who had just disembarked held the tram door open for him until he got on board."

"Fred Hotel is amazing! Few minutes walk from the main station, you’ll have access to a Swiss restaurant and Starbucks on the same building, then the grocery store’s just on the next building! Amazing! Superb. Free coffee, drinks, some sweets. I had issues on my first night regarding air conditioning unit but it got resolved the next day and their management was considerate. Immaculate! Will I recommend this to friends? BIG YES."

"The hotel was great; they let us check in before 12 PM. The room size was also good. Remember to take the tram from the train station entrance to the hotel, otherwise, it's quite a struggle with luggage."

"The front desk of this hotel is off work at five o'clock every day. I don't know what time in the morning because we go out earlier every time. It is too suitable for young people to live here. Everything is modern, especially the mobile phone check-in. The elevator is operated by mobile phones. It is really not suitable for us. After all, I am used to regular hotels. The hotel TV cannot be used on the day of check-in. No one can contact us. I finally contacted Trip.com . The next day I changed the TV to solve the problem of watching TV. Trip.com The customer service was very intimate and returned to visit us, but I encountered a situation where the phone was out of power. Fortunately, when I went back to the hotel that day, someone was still on duty, I was thinking, if the front desk is off work, how can I go upstairs and enter the room without electricity on my mobile phone? Staying in a hotel should be people-oriented, consider the convenience of operation, and obey the habits of the guests, so that there will be better business and reputation. It is recommended that older people who do not use mobile phones should not choose this hotel. The location of the hotel is not bad, it is very convenient to take the 30th bus from the train station, and the health is also good. You can cook in the room. There are pots and pans induction cookers. In short, people have their own habits. I express my personal feelings. In addition, there is a man in the hotel like the person in charge, or quite enthusiastic. Hardware configuration is suitable for young people!"

"Every aspect of this hotel met my expectations - a perfectly located and value for money hotel, right in the heart of Zurich. i will definitely book Motel One in the future."
