"This was my first time staying here. I really enjoyed the welcome drink in the lobby, which made waiting for check-in very relaxing. The entire room was impeccably clean, which I appreciated. The only minor thing was that the showers in the public bath weren't consistent in design or type. It wasn't really a problem, but since everything else was so clean, it just stood out a little. Overall, I'd definitely want to stay here again. Thank you!"

"The room was clean and uncluttered, and the amenities were all the bare minimum. All the meals were delicious, and while the main fish and meat dishes were brought to you by staff, if you wanted more you could pick up food from the buffet corner - a style I've never experienced anywhere else, but I thought was great. I was traveling alone, and the style was comfortable for a solo traveler, allowing me to enjoy leisurely meals in the morning and evening. The cold pumpkin soup at dinner was particularly delicious, and I had seconds. I wondered how they managed to create that flavor... It became a memorable taste of my trip."

"It is a 10-minute walk to get there. You will need to use the stairs if you are coming from Atami Station. The room is very traditional Japanese. I had some Japanese Sake (Izu Sake) for free. You can get free beer, tea and coffee. The owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome. He helped us wash laundry for free. He also gave us a lift back to Atami Station. I was able to relax in the public bath and have some private time twice. There was a projector that allowed you to watch YouTube and Netflix. I would like to come again."

"This hotel really great for locationwise.. nearby all those eatery places and souvenirs shops. The onsen really good as well and the room quite big and clean. The only upset us since we booked another day through differrent apps but when we checked in we told the lady and also pay all the tax at the same time but we hv to check out and change the room. On the day we change the room the man charge us again the tax eventhough i already explained and ask him to doublechecked. On the last day we asked again and show them the receipt so they gave us back the tax money. Its not about the amount of money but their serve that i want to point it out."

I am particular about smoking and the non smoking room was full of smoky smell. Also surprised that I have to set up my own tatami bed etc. Staff dependent on google translate but stranded when there's no WiFi. They could have translated common phrases in text. Nice garden."

"I only discovered this hotel because I wanted to see the Atami Fireworks Festival, but I loved it the moment I stepped inside. The regular shuttle bus between the hotel and Atami Station is incredibly convenient. The hotel environment and food are also pluses, especially the onsen (hot spring bath), which was truly relaxing. There's also an outdoor swimming pool, but I didn't have time to try it; I felt like even one night wasn't enough. There's a dedicated area by the sea for watching the fireworks, which is a thoughtful touch. The front desk has Chinese-speaking staff who are very welcoming and will provide maps and directions."

"Came here for the fireworks. You can soak in the hot springs at the hotel next to the fireworks display, have a buffet, then change into a yukata and head over leisurely. The hotel buffet even includes unlimited beer, cocktails, and more! I loved the chawanmushi, grilled fish, beef brisket, tempura... and there was sashimi too. For breakfast, I grabbed some natto, and wow, that's truly 'hellish' cuisine, haha! 🤣 They offer a JR station shuttle service. The driver was very nice and helped with our luggage. We decided not to take it on the way there because we wanted to explore the onsen town, but the hilly roads were quite a trek, very difficult to walk. I'd recommend just heading straight to check-in first, then exploring. The onsen also had a manga corner. Oh, and you don't actually need to bring your own yukata for the fireworks! This hotel has many different patterns of yukata available for guests using the hot springs."

GGuest UserSanpeiso was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The ryokan beautifully preserves the atmosphere of traditional Japan while offering excellent comfort and hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and took great care of every detail throughout our stay. The room was spacious, spotless, and overlooked a peaceful garden, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The onsen was exceptional — the hot spring water felt wonderful after a day of sightseeing, and the entire bathing area was quiet and beautifully maintained. Both dinner and breakfast were served in traditional Japanese style and were outstanding. Every dish was carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and showcased seasonal ingredients. It felt like a true cultural experience rather than simply a meal. What impressed us most was the authentic character of the ryokan. Unlike many modernized properties, Sanpeiso retains the charm and elegance of a classic Japanese inn. The combination of attentive service, excellent cuisine, serene surroundings, and high-quality hot springs made our stay unforgettable. If you are looking for an authentic ryokan experience in Atami, I highly recommend Sanpeiso. We would gladly return on our next visit to Japan.

I barely ran into any staff or other guests during check-in or throughout the hotel, which made it feel very quiet, almost a bit eerie due to the lack of people. I walked to the hotel from the shopping street, and it was a very steep hill. With the rain and my luggage, it was quite a struggle on foot. I'd recommend a taxi if you're not driving. It's very close to the station, so using a ride-sharing app makes getting around super smooth. Apparently, there are bugs in the summer. Personally, I was delighted that there was a ping-pong table. I'd love to stay here again if I get the chance!

GGuest UserIt was a quaint, cozy hotel situated close to JR Atami Station. The hotel has very good food for both dinner and breakfast! The staff are friendly and even though they can't speak good English, they tried their best to communicate to the best of their knowledge and I really appreciate it! I especially enjoyed my time at the onsen on the rooftop, it has good facilities. The only thing is the cleanliness of the room, since there is still water in the kettle from the previous guests, I didn't want to drink any water from the kettle because of it. They should replace it with a new kettle or clean it. Otherwise, the room is also very cozy, they give yukatas for guests to wear them around the hotel and they also offer free transport to JR Atami station. Otherwise, I would have struggled to get around since there is lack of public transportation at Atami! I still have a very good time and enjoyed my time because of the friendly staff at the hotel, they are very helpful! 10/10 will come back again with my friends or family in the future.

However, the overall facilities, including the rooms, feel a bit dated. The exception is the large onsen and sauna complex in the basement, which I enjoyed the most.

Because it is related to the beach, the room is a damp musty smell as soon as it enters, but there is a purifier in the room. It is not easy to book a room on the night of the fireworks conference, although the price may have doubled 3 times compared to the usual price. The room rate includes 2 large and 1 small, one berth and two meals, and 3 people have made the bed and put toiletries. Breakfast and dinner are buffets. It is best to make an appointment with the hotel in advance for dinner. We don’t know. We went to the scene and were told that there was a second 20 o’clock. Fortunately, our driver sister and the front desk softly grinded hard and said that we were going to the beach to see the fire. We were transferred to the first session at 18:30. Although the quality of the buffet is not much, it tastes very good, especially fried shrimp, egg fried rice, steak. Soft drinks and beer are also free, and the meal time is 70 minutes. After dinner, there are two roads from the hotel to the hydrophilic park google map, one passing through Atami Ginza, there are many people and cars and shops to walk slowly. If you want to feel lively, you can go here. We chose a path with steps along the river. It is not tired to go downhill to the beach. It takes about 12 or 3 minutes to get to the hydrophilic park. It is just right to see the fireworks here. If you don't want to go to the beach, there is also a terrace on the 5th floor of the hotel (you can see a sign on the same day), but it will be blocked by the front building. Be optimistic about the fire back to the hotel, you can also go to the large bathhouse on the 2nd floor to take a bath and soak in the hot springs, comfortable. GGuest UserI didn't have high expectations after looking at the Ctrip score, but many hotels were fully booked that night for the fireworks display, so I came to this hotel. It was actually OK. The room is not small, the terrace is super large, you can see the sea, but it is blocked by high-voltage wires. It's not far from Atami Station to the room, 10 minutes away, but you have to walk up the stairs or take an S-shaped road, which is a bit painful to carry a suitcase. There is no bathroom in the room, only a public bath. There are very few people and it is almost reserved. When I checked in at around 6:30, there was no one at the front desk. I had to call them to come out. It was a bit strange. And they also stipulated that the door is locked from 11pm to 6am the next day and no one can enter or leave.

But considering the price and room size of Atami Hotel, I still think this hotel is good value for money. Actual stay experience: The sanitary conditions are in line with the expectations of Japanese hotels and are quite clean. In terms of transportation, it is a bit inconvenient. It is not far from the station, but because of the characteristics of Atami as a mountain city, it is very inconvenient to drag suitcases in the hotel south of Atami. I was exhausted with two suitcases on the first day, especially when I was in a hurry. The facilities are indeed old, but it's just like that after getting used to it. The small TV is a problem, but moving the table over, it's not bad for the family to watch TV at night. It's a bit troublesome to make the bed yourself, but it's also fun, and it's relatively easy to put on the quilt. In terms of service, the money I needed to pay was calculated incorrectly at the beginning, and I spent a lot of time at the front desk, and the attitude of the aunt with glasses was not particularly friendly, which is a minus point.
