"Expensive, but if you're looking for a luxurious hot springs stay, it's worth it. Includes entrance to the nearby Yunessun, which is a quick walk down the street. Bus stop immediately across the road helps with reaching other parts of Hakone easily. I got one without the in room onsen, but there is a public one inside the hotel itself and the room had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the mountain instead. Very authentic hot springs experience"

"Our Hakone trip's biggest surprise was definitely staying at the Ashinoko Hanaori ryokan. The entire experience was fantastic, far exceeding our expectations. I especially want to highlight the rooms, the food, and the private onsen! The rooms were surprisingly spacious, a clever blend of Japanese and Western styles. Even with family, it never felt cramped. The furnishings were exquisite and tidy, and all amenities were well-provided. Sitting by the window, gazing at the beautiful Ashi Lake scenery, was incredibly relaxing. The food was another huge plus for the ryokan. The buffet breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety, featuring fresh local ingredients. There were both characteristic Japanese dishes and delicate desserts, all with a refined and authentic taste. If you book in advance, you can even dine with a lake view, making it a feast for both the eyes and the palate. But the private onsen was the absolute highlight – amazing value for money and incredibly private. The bathwater was warm and soothing, and soaking in it completely relaxed my body, washing away all travel fatigue. Taking a dip in the private onsen at night, accompanied by the tranquil night sky and a gentle breeze, created an utterly immersive and therapeutic atmosphere. The ryokan's convenient location was the icing on the cake. It's directly opposite the Togendai transport hub, making travel incredibly easy. Whether you're heading to Ashi Lake for the pirate ship, or taking the ropeway and buses to various attractions, you don't need to go out of your way – the boarding points are within walking distance, saving a lot of hassle. What was especially convenient was that our plan for the next day was to travel from Hakone to Mount Fuji. We could take a direct bus from Togendai to Gotemba; the schedule was convenient, the journey smooth, and there was no need for extra transfers, which significantly saved travel time and made our trip more worry-free and efficient. The ryokan's service was also very thoughtful. The overall experience was excellent, suitable for both family trips and romantic getaways. It's definitely our top choice for accommodation in Hakone, and we'll certainly stay here again next time!"

"Hotel is abit dated and old by now compared to when I stayed many years ago. Still it’s a relatively clean, nice and comfy hotel, with nice Fuji view in both onsen and surrounding area. Overall it’s a lovely stay and we are happy to be back again."

"The room size was pretty good, offering great value for money considering it's in the mountains and part of a well-known chain. We could even access the hot spring park at the sister hotel across the way, though we didn't go in since we weren't with kids. The complimentary dinner was a set menu, not the yakiniku buffet we initially thought, but with an extra dish, it was pretty much enough for two. There's also a big Family Mart convenience store at the sister hotel, perfect for stocking up on supplies. In the evening, it was lovely to relax in our hotel's hot spring. Even though it's a public bath, it's small, cozy, and has outdoor pools. The hotel is conveniently located right by Kowakien Station and Horaiden. I have to say, Japanese gardens are incredibly small and refined; every spot is meticulously kept and elegant. My only regret was slipping on a steep slope after getting off the bus. I scraped my skin a bit before my hot spring soak, which definitely became a memorable part of the trip."

"Hakone Hotel is a historic piece of Hakone and has maintained its elegance over the decades. It has spacious rooms with comfortable beds and if lucky, great views of the lake and Mt. Fuji. The onsen are a nice touch, and included for guests with minimal charge, 150 yen per da, and seems to be compulsory. The breakfast is simple, with an order main dish, and buffet for the additional options. The French toast is amazing. The staff is extremely helpful and speaks English relatively well. The hotel offers free welcome drinks and free soft drinks, coffee, milk tea, cocoa, and more throughout the day. The location is perfect for getting on the lake cruise, which takes you to the shrine in 5 minutes, the cable car in 25 minutes, which goes onward to the steam vents. There are limited restaurants nearby the hotel, but there's an excellent Indian place right next door, a Japanese food truck that makes great grilled chicken yakotori, wagyu beef, and a Mediterranean that i didn't have an opportunity to try. This is an excellent hotel and somewhere I'd stay again. It does take about 40 minutes by bus from the train station, but worth the effort."

"Blisstia was one of the best accommodations we had in Japan but also expected given the price we paid. We love that it was secluded in terms of the location so while it was hard to get to by public transport, it was well worth it. We took the public bus as mentioned by other reviews and it was good enough for us to travel around. Amenities were good and we made sure to stay in the accommodation to make our money worth too. The onsen was one of the best I’ve had and I like that there were really few people around. They also have a massage chair to use after onsen if you manage to snag it."

"This is a very spacious onsen ryokan with a kids' book corner and a manga nook. The private onsen baths are free of charge, making it perfect for family trips, though they are quite popular and require a queue. There are complimentary afternoon refreshments and late-night snacks. The courtyard features a bonfire and foot bath. From check-in in the afternoon, there are always facilities to use, and it never feels too crowded, even on weekends, as the space is very well-arranged and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located right next to Gora Station, making it easy to get around by bus or train. The staff are very friendly, and snacks are constantly replenished, so you don't have to worry about missing out if you arrive late. After a hot spring bath, there's milk and popsicles available. The 24-hour self-service beverage bar also has hot water and hot tea, so those who prefer warm water are covered. The only downside is the lack of a full-length mirror in the room, which is a bit of a pity."

"This hotel is nestled right on Lake Ashi, and after checking in, we took a stroll through the hotel gardens and were greeted by another magnificent view of Mount Fuji. The scenery is absolutely stunning. The hot springs were also incredibly relaxing. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. It was very convenient to pre-book the hotel's shuttle bus."

"This was the best hotel I stayed at during my Chinese New Year trip to Japan, though it was also the most expensive. The hotel is right by the Hakone-Yumoto station exit, just across the little red bridge, which is incredibly convenient for families with luggage or young children. The hotel itself is comparable to a 4- to 5-star hotel in China. Both the service and facilities were excellent. They offer both private and public onsen baths. The private bath costs 2000 yen for 45 minutes, while the public one is free. We opted for the private bath. We arrived at the hotel at noon, dropped off our luggage, booked our private bath slot, and then went out to explore. The hotel even separates luggage storage for check-in and check-out, which is a nice touch. In the afternoon, you can explore the street in front of Hakone-Yumoto station, check out transportation options for the next day, and enjoy some local food. Of course, if you're short on time, you can also just drop your bags and hop on a train to start your journey. The room was also very spacious. We booked a triple room, and it was the biggest room I've stayed in during all my trips to Japan over the past few years. I must particularly mention that on our first afternoon, someone in our group was feeling unwell with a headache and vomiting. We approached the front desk before 2 PM, hoping to check in early and let them rest. The front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic and processed our early check-in immediately. Another thing that happened was I realized I'd lost my wireless Bluetooth earphones after returning to Tokyo, and I suspected they might have been left at the hotel. Since I didn't have a phone number, I contacted the hotel via email. The very next day, hotel customer service replied. They not only looked for them in our room but also searched in the hotel's public areas. Although they weren't found, I was still very satisfied with the service of the Japanese hotel staff. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip to Hakone. Also, a tip for everyone: this area perfectly combines liveliness and tranquility. Other places, in my opinion, are either too far (requiring long train rides) or too desolate."
