"This hotel was so good that now, as I'm blow-drying my hair halfway through in a hotel in Osaka and feeling miserable, I suddenly remembered I hadn't left a review for the Sapporo hotel yet. First, the location. It's really close to Sapporo Station, so dragging luggage across the ice wasn't too much of a hassle. It's convenient for getting everywhere. Hokkaido University is just a 5-minute walk, and Tanukikoji Shopping Street is about fifteen minutes away. There's also Suwa Shrine, famous for its beautiful charms. It made me feel like I was living there. Check-in was smooth. I just showed my passport at the front desk, and it was done quickly. The person who helped me then was a short-haired girl (I forget if she had bangs, but I think so) wearing glasses and speaking Chinese. She was patient and gentle, explaining all the hotel services in detail, like where the public bath was, how to connect to the room's Wi-Fi, etc. Very thoughtful and thorough. Speaking of the room, it was a bit bigger than the triple rooms I've stayed in in Tokyo and Osaka. It was clean, pretty, and most importantly, bright. The TV could cast to devices, and it was easy to use. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area with 24-hour ventilation, so it was never damp. The bathtub was large and clean, and I soaked in it for two days straight. Writing this makes me even sadder because I'm currently standing with wet hair in the cramped bathroom of my Osaka hotel. I'll be leaving Japan in a few days. Sigh, I really miss Hokkaido. It probably would have been better if I had made Hokkaido the last stop of my Japan trip. Actually, during my days in Hokkaido, I had many regrets. For example, my planned afternoon trip to Tengu Mountain was canceled due to strong winds and cable car suspension. Another time, I went out early, but the blue sky was mostly covered by dark clouds, with only occasional glimpses of sun. And then there were the cold, strong winds. Several times, walking down the street, the wind was so strong I had to duck behind a building while waiting for the traffic light, just to steal a few seconds of warmth. There were also countless moments when I almost slipped. Now, thinking back, I actually feel nostalgic for them. When will I experience those moments again? I can only wish that every winter in my future life includes a few days in Hokkaido. On the day I went to Otaru, the temperature was -0.6 degrees Celsius, so cold! Along the canal, everyone was like they were ice skating. I was wearing snow boots I bought for 127 yuan in Tanukikoji, carefully stepping in the footprints of the person in front of me. The sky was so blue, the water so clear, and the houses on the distant mountains looked like a tiny world. I wondered what kind of life the people living there led. Every step offered a picturesque view. The path along the canal was neither long nor short. Actually, even if I had slipped, it wouldn't have mattered. If it made my impression of Hokkaido more vivid, something I'd remember decades later, or when I'm old, then it would be worth it. The day before I left, I went to Hokkaido Shrine and Maruyama Park. The vast white landscape was so clean, and the bare trees made the snowy scenery even more beautiful. A small stream flowed through the park. Closing my eyes, I could imagine it as a waterfall, its sleep-inducing sound not knowing where it led. Landing in Osaka, the rain was heavy, and I didn't have an umbrella. I got drenched walking across the streets to the hotel. Everything felt so different. It made me think of the tree downstairs at *that* hotel. Day in and day out, it was always there, watching travelers from different countries come and go like Hokkaido's snow, accumulating and melting. Watching them open Google Maps every morning to check their route and return at night with bags of convenience store goodies. A happy tree, witnessing so many happy journeys in Hokkaido that began from that hotel. It's 1:45 AM Japan time now. My hair is almost dry. I'm not very sleepy, but I have to go to bed. Tomorrow I'm off to Kyoto. Usually, I think a lot at night or get anxious about various things, but during my days in Hokkaido, I felt surprisingly good. Even with unfinished plans, my mood wasn't dampened. Perhaps that's what a truly good trip is, haha, a journey for the soul? Anyway, I highly recommend this hotel!"

"Absolutely loved this place, it deserves a perfect 100! 💯 It's so close to the supermarket, shopping street, and Odori Park. There's a small river nearby where some plump fish lazily spend their day without moving, making the environment incredibly quiet. The hygiene is impeccable, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. I even made sukiyaki and涮shabu-shabu with fresh Hokkaido lamb – I was so satisfied! I definitely want to stay here again next time 👍"

"We were a family of 3. Room was spacious enough for our 3 luggages. TV also had information regarding the status of the onsen and washing machine which was a nice touch. The counter staff also spoke good English and were generally very helpful. The free drinks in the lounge and bottled water in the room were very welcome too."

"The hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Sapporo Station, which is directly connected to the airport via the JR Airport Express. Don't listen to previous reviews suggesting you head towards Daimaru department store. Instead, follow my photos to easily find the hotel. You won't even need to cross the street. Just locate the Namboku Line subway, then find Exit 9 through the side passages. When I visited in February, there was a Descente store next to the hotel's elevator. The front desk is on the 10th floor. Breakfast was good, and the hot springs were very relaxing. Most importantly, the hotel is new. Our triple room included executive lounge access, offering red and white wine, coffee, and four snacks including Jagabee (Jaga Pokkuru). We had a very comfortable stay. Housekeeping is done by 3 PM at the latest. Hokkaido University is a 20-minute walk, Mitsukoshi is also 20 minutes on foot, and the Factory Outlet is a 15-minute walk. We walked everywhere from the hotel."

"Good hotel which located near the Sapporo station. I stayed there for 6D5N and it was snowing for a couple of days. So staying near the subway and APIA was important to us. There’s a public Onsen bath and open lounge for guests so it was good. A couple of downside was that there was some smell in the washroom, not sure if from the gutter or bathtub. And another thing was that the bedsheet was a bit uncomfortable compared to other Keio hotel. All in all a decent hotel for any tourists that wanted to stayed in central Sapporo area."

I would like to share a small concern regarding my experience at the front desk on March 1, in the hope that it may be helpful for your future service considerations. After checking out from another hotel, we planned a 2‑day, 1‑night trip to Otaru and wished to store our luggage at your hotel beforehand. When we arrived, we were assisted by your staff member, Ms. Hayshi(林）.When we asked whether it was possible to store our luggage, we were informed that storage was limited to one day only. We then explained that we would be returning quite late the following evening and asked if there might be any flexibility or alternative arrangements. However, the response we received felt a little abrupt, including a surprised “Huh?” that left us unsure how to continue the conversation. This made us feel slightly uncomfortable and misunderstood, though we believe it may simply have been a moment of miscommunication. In addition, from the day we inquired about luggage storage until March 4, we noticed that there were still two pieces of luggage stored in the luggage area for several days. We would appreciate some clarification on why those items were allowed to remain for an extended period, as this left us a bit confused about the policy. "Great location, from the hotel to suskino it was about 15/17 minutes walk depending on how fast of a walker u are but if u would rather take a train it’s a 5 mins walk to the station and a 2 mins walk from station to the platform then a 5 mins and 1 stop. So efficient, lovely staffs. There’s a seicomart at every corner same with Lawson and 7/11 convenience store. A nice park to at the back and many local restaurants."

"This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. During breakfast, a waitress showed me to table A, and I went to get my food. When I returned to sit down and eat, a male waiter approached me and aggressively told me in Japanese that I couldn't sit there—that the table was reserved for 'that couple' and I needed to find another seat, all while waving his hands dismissively (was he swatting flies?). I didn't move, simply replied, ”This table was assigned to me by your colleague,” and continued eating. Upon hearing this, the waiter turned around and led the couple away without even an apology! When I reported this to the restaurant manager, his attitude was equally appalling—just a dismissive 'sorry'."

"Since it's an older hotel, the facilities and decor are pretty standard. Because of its prime location in Sapporo, the price is a bit high. Compared to a similarly priced hotel I stayed at in Hakodate, this one felt a bit lacking. Plus, they're promoting eco-friendliness, so they only clean every three days unless you specifically request it. However, this hotel is a common meeting point for many tour groups and buses, making it super convenient if you book one-day round trips online, or have ski or airport transfers. The location is excellent, right in Susukino. My suitcase accidentally got mixed up with another tour group's because it's a meeting point, but the front desk staff were incredibly helpful, contacting their driver to bring it back. So, their service is really top-notch."

"I had a very pleasant stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo. The hotel is conveniently located near Sapporo Station, making it very easy to get around, especially with luggage. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, which made the experience even better. Check-in and check-out were smooth. Overall, it was a good stay and I would consider coming back again on my next trip to Sapporo."
