This was by far the most satisfying hotel on our trip to Europe. The facilities were perfect, and unlike most places in Europe where you pay for everything, this hotel provided a complimentary still water and a sparkling water bottle daily. The executive lounge room type was incredibly affordable. We could grab a soft drink before heading out and upon returning, and they even offered free Japanese beer and some snacks. I thought the breakfast at the lounge in the mornings was quite good too – perfect for a quick bite if you can't make it to regular breakfast. Plus, the lounge view was fantastic! 👍

The reception was warm and the service was thoughtful. You will be seated first when checking in. Drinks and snacks will be prepared for you and then you can check in slowly. The breakfast was rich. I don't know if it was due to the translation or something else, but the basement written in Chinese on Ctrip was not the basement but the top floor. However, the parking fee for self-driving in Amsterdam is really explosive.

Excellent room, excellent location and atmosphere of the hotel. Staff however, too often, go according to the 'book', and find it hard to think and improvise on the spot. It's as if they are under trained. When checking in there is no need to ask the guest to fill info on the iPad. You have this info, to stay in touch, already. Don't burden the weary traveler with trivial nonsense. If the sun shines, finally after weeks of grey and rain, and a guest sees the patio with tables in the sun, and this guest wants to have tea in the sun outside in the patio, this has to be a possibility. Don't say, well it's not the season so it's closed, it doesn't make sense, you're a top hotel, not the vander Valk. Improvise, think on your feet, explain that he is welcome to sit there and that his tea will be brought out, but it might take a few minutes longer. This way the guest feels listened to and that the moon is even possible. The kitchen is incredible, the food is wonderful. Last evening I had dinner at the Jansz., two ladies working, were very kind, helpful and attentive, they understood the delicate balance between asking how things are going and leaving the guest alone. I want them to know i appreciate them. Please extend my gratitude to them. Also the Asian looking lady who worked during breakfast this morning, was excellent. Please let her know as well. Finally, the staff at the entrance - getting cabs etc. - are great. Some of the male staff are too - in Dutch, popy yoopy. I am your guest and not your friend. That's all, and that's enough. Love hotel n real value for money! Designed by Marcel Wanders it’s so stylish n functional. Soomin a Korean receptionist was the best, carried all our luggage which she didn’t have to. Best random act of kindness

I would definitely come back here again! The staff we're very friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and the amenities were great. The room had a yoga mat, full size ironing board and an iron. On the rainy days they even offered umbrellas to take and use for the day. We needed the heating turned up in our room and within minutes it was resolved. Location is great being a few minutes walk from Amsterdam Central station

Environment: It used to be a boys' school, but it was later converted into a hotel, which is very interesting. The paintings in the corridor and the design of the room numbers are very artistic. I should take a look around the hotel if I have the chance. There is a tram stop at the door to go to the central station, which is very convenient. It is also very close to the art museum, about two or three tram stops away. It is a little far from the city center, so it is quieter at night, not as messy as the city center, and there is no 🍃 smell outside (really great). Service: The service is very good. Chocolate and drinks will be given upon check-in. The service staff are also very enthusiastic and the communication is smooth. The service staff in the restaurant are also very enthusiastic, and the food tastes good. The drinks in the mini bar are free and will be replenished in time every day. There is also a night bed service, and the fragrance selected at check-in will be sprayed. The service is really good, which is the happiest thing about me in Amsterdam. Centrally located hotel near Leidseplein, within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Tram station is just across the street for access to wider part of Amsterdam. Clean room and spacious enough for family with the 2 double beds.

This hotel's breakfast is fantastic, with a wide variety of options, and you can also order items. The food was delicious and it was my favorite breakfast restaurant on my European trip. I miss it so much! The hotel was originally a converted 18th- or 19th-century ship ticket and warehouse building. It's full of character and a sense of history. The hotel is about five minutes from the center of town, with a small canal next to it and a large river flowing in front of it. It's perfect for me, who prefers a city-friendly lifestyle without the crowds. I forgot to bring an adapter this time and asked to borrow one from the hotel. They only sell it, not lend it. This was a first for me. However, when it rained, they were happy to lend me an umbrella. In front of the hotel, on the river, there's a Chinese restaurant that looks like a palace on the sea, with exquisite decor.
