Spacious rooms with view of the ocean from every room and pool with walk way around the hotel makes it very attractive. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Front office manager Kurwa was very considerate in providing extra couple of hours to stay before we took a taxi to the airport. Smiling face of dining area supervisor Mfaume and unexpected live ban during lunch due to VIP visit added value and enjoyable a**osphere. Chef Sunil capped it all with wonderful preparations of vegetable and chicken delicacies to cap it all. Sunil made us feel at home with dishes to our liking with smiling service.

Definitely not a 5 star experience Steamy muggy hallways and reception Breakfast was stone cold Rooms are small with limited electrical outlets for charging electronics and the two available were under a table or behind a desk

Fantastic Location on Beach Front. Best hotel in city with excellent staff. Clean, secure and caring . Staff is Awesome and customer service oriented. Chef Sunil and staff in dining will blow you away. GREAT Job guys. If in Zanzibar stay here.

I stayed almost one month (February 2024) in this very nice placed (ocean-front) Hotel Serena. All the staff, Manager, Receptionists, Chief Cookers, Waiters,Cleaning- and Security-People, lets say everybody was so friendly to me and also competent. I felt very comfortable, secured and treated like I am a family-member. Special thanks goes to Mister Sunil Dutt, the Chief cook (and his team), which helped me with very healthy food while i had some health issues.

Excellent hotel with exceptional staff, great food and lovely bedrooms. The Serena is a literal oasis from the chaos of Stonetown and I could not fault it at all. We had a great time here and I'd be delighted to return again in the future. (Providing I can still make it up all those stairs!) I was reading a novel set in Zanzibar whilst here and it was a joy to read about the hotel, whilst literally staying in it.

I used to stop in this hotel in Stonetown. Very welcome staff and helpful. Always ready to assist with any solution and help! Highly recommended! Very nice location and good customer care from staff from GM to portier...

Everything was perfect. The location, the room, the swimming pool and the beach, just cm from the hotel. We appreciated particularly the kindness of every person of the staff. the seafood restaurant was good and particularly cheap for 5 stars Hotel. The breakfasts were just fantastic, with the breakfast room directly on the see.
