We had an amazing stay! A very unique experience in an historical home. Evan, the host, was lovely and couldn't do more to make sure we had a perfect stay. I highly recommend staying here. Beautiful big rooms with spa baths in each. We ended up staying an extra night! Evans cooks a fresh 3 course breakfast which is one of the best we've had. Delicious food, and a memerable lovely stay. Thank you Evan.

We recently spent a night at the House of 1833. It was wonderful! As a history buff and a fan of staying in historic homes this was an excellent choice. We stayed in the Verandah room. It was spacious and comfortable. Evan provided a breakfast experience that exceeded most of our stays at other locations. He was very welcoming and we had access to roam the entire home. It contains a very eclectic collection of treasures. My only regret is not spending another day to continue to explore the home.

We adored this beautiful mansion filled with historical antiques. Evan was an exceptional host. We loved hearing about the history. Our room was very clean and cozy. Breakfast was a gourmet meal. Great location near all the fun stuff in Mystic.

The mansion is fully stocked with eclectic artifacts and the historical connections to Mystic create a nostalgic vibe unmatched to any other. Evan has a warm welcoming soul that made us feel at home throughout our stay. We stayed in the Cupola room, fully equipped with a fireplace, jetted tub and of course private access to the cupola. The complimentary sherry was an unexpected stroke of elegant hospitality. We will be back again once the pool opens up and Im sure we’ll enjoy our next stay even more.

My wife found this B&B six years ago for a valentines getaway and we have been hooked ever since. Evan and Robert were 2 of the warmest most accommodating in keepers I ever met. The house has a wonderful charm to it, like no other. We have been visiting for last 6 years. In 2020 due to covid we were not able to visit Evan and Robert during Valentines however we were able to visit in October during Halloween, it was still a joy to be at the House of 1833. We were able to visit the House of 1833 for our romantic valentines tradition this year, and as usual our stay for four night is like visiting a love one. Evan is just as warm as ever, Even though Robert now S.I.P. and he is greatly missed. You still feel the warmth and compassion of two people still through Evan… The House of 1833 is a beautiful and great experience for a stay.

My wife and I found this gem about 10 years ago before we were married. Our last visit was during the summer when we were able to enjoy the spectacular gardens. We waited too long to return. This time we came with our little fur baby who was welcomed with open arms. Originally built in 1833 this home is filled with the warmth and charm you would expect from a national landmarked mansion. Yes, the dining room, parlor and kitchen areas are filled with collections from around the world making this a very unique B&B. Amazing gourmet breakfasts prepared by your gracious host Evan. We stayed in the spacious Veranda which is the same room we stayed in 10 years ago. Each guest room has its own assigned parking space. You’ll also be greeted by the resident Dixie who is Evans fur baby. Dixie is warm and gentle. We hope to return this summer to enjoy the beautiful gardens and swimming pool.

Where do I start!! Everything you can expect and more! Exceptional in every way imaginable. A fairytale that turned to reality. ❤️From the moment you enter, you can feel the enriched history to the love all around, in every corner. Every inch of this warm establishment has a story. A+++ service, stay, food, environment. Evan, I already miss you. We cannot wait to return. Thank you for everything.

This was our first bed & breakfast experience. It was nothing short of wonderful. The house is full of beautiful antiques and historic artwork. Breakfast by our gracious host was different each day and most delicious. We were blessed with lovely weather and dined on the patio with other friendly guests and the resident dog, which made it so fun. There are plenty of places both inside and outside to relax, especially the pool. Every detail was attended to in both rooms our family used (Ivy and Veranda).

My husband & I stayed 2 nights at this lovely bed & breakfast! The biggest plus was, we could bring our golden doodle with us!! House of 1833 has a lot to offer in terms of furnishings ( mostly antique ) Christmas decorations & very festive breakfast room!! The highlight of the stay was Evans hospitality. He is an amazing chef & prepares very good breakfast. The blueberry muffins with fresh whipped cream was a topper. Evans Dog Dixie is a sweetheart & v.mellow. Mystic downtown is less than a 10 min ride in the car. All in all, it felt like home away from home & from the verandah room, I had access to the kitchen & microwave, and the drawer with all kinds of exotic tea bags. We will definitely love to go there in summer & enjoy the pool area & gardens.
