A one time grand-ish hotel is now looking a little tired but it’s in a great spot, perfect for walking and water sports. Staff friendly and helpful. Waiting service needs polishing. Restaurant food good.

Hotel needs updating, we stay only for one night and that was alright but definitely I wouldn’t stay there for longer.
Staff at the reception was lovely but young staff at the restaurant needed to pay attention to the way they present themselves for breakfast ( they uniform was not up to the standards, shirts was grey and not iron)also when I mentioned discreet to one young lady who was serving breakfast that they have rooted apple there instead of removing straight away she walks away with like smiley on her face , a bit unprofessional.
If you talk about facility in the swimming and spa …well is very old and needs good cleaning and renovations, jacuzzi was not working and pool was very cold also people was taking babies to the jacuzzi!
Room was alright, tv a bit too small for the size of the room.
Would I stay there again?

Staff always friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were lovely. Beautiful hotel, old world charm. Great location.

Superb location for The peninsula, the coast, Swanage, and a short hop to Bournemouth etc. Good breakfast and evening meal too.

Overall the room was clean and warm .
The decor was dated (my opinion).
The bathroom overall was clean however there were traces of mould in the tiles.
Excellent breakfast the staff were very welcoming.

I was expecting a better standard, the whole hotel is very tired and needs all facilities, furniture and decor upgrading, the bed and mattress is very old and uncomfortable, parts of the hotel needed cleaning, the cutlery at breakfast was dirty.
The area is however lovely, it’s such a shame!!

Perfect hotel for a restful break, no pressures, amid glorious scenery. sea-view and stunning nature walks. No real criticism, other than dinner menu could be more varied and extensive on Sundays.

Hotel takes you back in a very relaxed and cosy environment. It’s not modern and some may say it’s tired but it makes the relaxed atmosphere. With a real fire burning in the reception and lounge area makes it warm and cosy. Restaurant very good with self service breakfast, table service for the evenings. Second time we have been to this hotel. Swimming pool indoors and out. Plenty of walks around and bus stop on the doorstep with buses running every hour to Poole or Swanage if you don’t want to drive.

We had a really lovely couple of nights here, the place is warm and welcoming. The decor is a little dated but I think that is part of the charm…..we will definitely stay again.
