Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sulphur Springs

I wish I could give this hotel a -10, but alas, I cannot. Back in January of 2024, we booked a room for April 8-9 for the full solar eclipse in TX. We did our due diligence and booked far in advance, knowing there would be a high volume of people. On April 6, we received conformation for our reservation on the 8th. We arrived to find the HOTEL HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR 4 MONTHS. Nothing online says its closed, we received a confirmation 2 days ago, and yet this hotel is being remodeled. We figured SURELY Wyndham would help us, but upon calling, we were told there is nothing they can do. They wouldn't even give us more points on our account to help us book another room. Most hotels in this area are completely booked, and the ones with availability are 4 to 5 times more expensive than our original booking. The man on the phone said that he could submit a complaint that would be resolved in 1-2 WEEKS. He couldn't seem to understand (or at least didn't care) why that's a problem for tonight. After a substantial time on the phone being told that they won't help us find a new location (i.e. told us that their customer service is completely worthless), we will now be watching the eclipse, and then driving six hours away to a different hotel... I will never stay in a Wyndham hotel again. Sure, they may be decent, but buyer beware if you have any sort of problem... because they could not possibly care less about their customers.

This hotel has been sold and is no longer affiliated with Wyndham, the previous owner didn't supply the new owner with reservation information for future stays. Reservations we made months ago for the solar eclipse are nowhere to be found. Wyndham says there's nothing they can do because they are not affiliated with the new owners and are not willing to help in any way.

The first room had more than one cockroach running around the trash left on the ground (chips, q-tips, etc). When explained to the front desk he reminded us that they are renovating. 😑 Room two had giant stains on the bed. Gave up trying to get a nice room. Going to leave as soon as we can tomorrow. If it wasn't so late we would have already left.

hotel was under renovation, room was missing window trim,bathroom was not finished, breakfast was closed security lock was broken on door. IfI had known of the renovation I would had stayed somewhere, which is why i"m guessing, , I wasn't told

Disgusting is not even close to how bad this place is. It’s a building site, complete remodel of the reception area. I thought we had the wrong place. After I got past that shock, I was met with the strongest smell of curry! I was given a room that looked like someone had been using it to live in and it hadn’t been cleaned or even made up. See photo. So I dragged my sleeping 3 year old and our bags back to reception. The second room smelled awful, the windows were full of cobwebs and caked on dirt. The linens did not look cleaned and were certainly not pressed. They looked as though they had been slept in and then the bed remade. The room had crickets in there and the decor was a random green office chair from the 1990’s. The bathroom sink was covered in rock burns. I asked for a refund and was told I’d receive it. The owner is ignoring me and the agent. Wyndham refused to intervene apparently their name doesn’t mean anything.

This facility was under a remodel & I was not made aware of this at the time of making my reservation, directly with the hotel. I felt like the facility could not be as clean as it could have been because of the drywall dust. The breakfast area was crowded & had lots of drywall dust.

All the negative reviews are right about how dirty this place is. This hotel should be closed and boarded up. There were dead bugs next to the bed. The carpet was filthy. There was hair on the sheets. Two of the pillows were completely split on one end and the stuffing was coming out - YET an employee deemed them good enough to still be used!! Not to mention the Orange, red and blue stains on all six pillows in the room. I presented every pillow to the desk clerk and she LITERALLY never responded. Nothing. So, I called the hotel consolidator that I booked with and through a major fit to get a refund.

This hotel is aweful. The property is dirty. It looks like a hangout spot for locals. The rooms were not properly cleaned. There was used soap in the shower and the towels were dingy. The staff was rude and unhelpful.
