Ambika Nivas Palace

We had our school reunion gathering for 2 nights. All of us above 70 years age. We had very relaxing stay in very comfortable accommodation and grounds in a heritage well maintainedproperty. The ownes- Royals were very approachable and the staff made our stay homely catering to personal needs food wise and all. I would recommend Ambika Nivas Palace to anyone who wants relaxing stay in a heritage ambiance.

Let’s start with the bad things….. ok we can end there and now move on to the great things… Upon arrival, treated as royalty by the owners who are actual royal blood lineage! We were met by the hotel owner and greeted as royal guests. We did a quick tour of the palace itself and discussed some of the amazing history behind the building and its heritage. Before arriving I had many reservations especially as the surrounding area is very rural and my perception was very restricted. As soon as we walked in that perception went out of the window. We stayed in the Royal Suite at the palace, let’s just say it definitely is royal standards. The main room is enough to sleep 7-8 people, the room comprises of a master bedroom, separate dressing room that leads to the huge bathroom. The facilities within the room are perfect, blending in the historical original walls, doors and windows with modern touches, tea/coffee facilities, fridge, etc. The service provided by the staff and owners is exceptional. Breakfast is a mix of continental as well as Indian traditional. The lunch we had was finger licking good. Just couldn’t eat anymore…. Grounds are amazing with peacocks and many other animals, the courtyards and green spaces are great places for a cup of masala chai and a book. The grounds security and gate keeper are very friendly and utmost attentive to needs at anytime of the day. We spent 7 days in the most idyllic stately palace that still remains. The history in the building has been preserved and maintained. The doors, windows and walls all ooze heritage, royalty and elegance. The hotel is one of historical artefacts that have stood the test of time and are being restored by the Parmar family. This hotel is not your everyday city hotel with walls that have no life, staying at this hotel makes you step back into history and get a glimpse of how the princely state Kings lived. This is no ordinary hotel, in fact it’s not a hotel at all, it’s a historical Time Machine and most importantly a home. We have had an amazing time at the hotel and will most definitely visit again to gain more knowledge of the local history of Muli and the once Princely State. Kudos to Ranjitbhai Singh Parmar and his entire team for providing us with the opportunity to stay at their home and we will visit again. Haribhai the ever attentive waiter, Mahipal, the sourced for anything you need. Mradhima for her amazing hospitality whilst we were there, and also ***** us to steal her husband each time we were chilling in the palace for talks and anecdotes from the days gone by. Thakor Saheb Jitendra Sinh Parmar spoke very eloquently about the building and the history and it was very interesting g to sit and chat with him to get a glimpse of his life at the Palace. Lastly, how could we forget Cairo! Cairo is the family’s dog. He was loved by all the guests, especially our daughter who grew very fond of him and in return He of her. Un ancien palais de maharadjah (qui fait lui-même l'inspection pour voir si tout se passe bien) à la campagne, près d'un gros village. Quelques chambres, spacieuses et décorées de meubles d'époque. Bon restaurant. Au final, une adresse très correcte en dehors des sentiers battus.
