Gulnara Guesthouse

This was such a terrible experience. My friend and I stayed for one night there. As much as we are grateful for letting us check in early we are disgusted by their very arrogant trea**ent towards us. After a long trip crossing from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan they didn't let us have a breakfast in our room. The lady who 'welcomed us' had no polite manners or all like she told us passport, no please or nothing, same as the end of the trip give me keys, like order. She shut us up when we were talking she told us to be quiet. The next day for breakfast we asked for a photo, the waitress said she needs to ask to the boss. Then she came asking what is the problem, as if asking for a photo is a problem in the afternoon we went to rest before our night trip from Tashkent to khiva and asked for tea. The guy working there said no tea. There was a lady making tea, she said she's a guest she helped me do it but then the guy came and asked for how long are we in the hotel. We felt like we are unwanted guests and they can't wait till they get rid of us.

This is a family run establishment and you are staying in a room in their house. As such, we received personalized service from them. Room was simple but clean and cosy. They were communicative prior to our arrival as well as during our stay providing us with useful information. Family was friendly and Mdm Gulnara was very sweet. It was very cold during our stay, as such, room was cold even with the heater. However, 1st night they provided extra blankets and 2nd night, they provided us with a portable heater which makes the room warmer. We can also always request for hot tea, Breakfast was simple consisting of tea, bread, jam, cheese and fruits. Location was good. Few minutes away from the bazaar and the bus to airport was 3 mins away. The guesthouse was between 2 Metro stops with walking distance between 7 to 10 mins away. The guesthouse was in residential neighborhood, however, there were shops and restaurants nearby. Wifi was strong.

For the money you wont get better in Tashkent. The guesthouse is super clean and the owner and his family make you feel very welcome. Ravshan, the owner had some great tips (including a great restaurant down the road), plus organised a taxi for me to take me to the airport for only a few dollars. Yes this isn't one of the luxury hotels in the city but for the money, it is my recommendation for visiting Tashkent. Thanks to all for a lovely stay.

Probably best option for a private room in Tashkent. Family run guesthouse in a quiet street close to famous Chorsu market and metro stop. Lots of affordable places to eat nearby. Friendly english speaking owners greet you with a hot tea and serve excellent breakfast in a green courtyard. Area is quiet, rooms are immaculate, beds are comfy, sheets are soft cotton, good sleep is guaranteed. As hostels are not best value in Tashkent I would strongly recommend this stay.

Even though we arrived at 1:00 am, we were greeted warmly and shown our room, The owner was up and waiting for us. We had to get up quite early to begin our city tour, and Gulnara was ready with a large, fresh breakfast. All together, we stayed here 4 nights. The room is very simple with few frills, but quite comfortable. The bed is hard, as are most beds in Uzbekistan. The guesthouse is walking distance to the Chorus Market, Just a few blocks away is very good restaurant.

Sehr herzliches Guesthouse. Wir wurden äusserst herzlich empfangen und haben unsere letzte Nacht vor dem Abflug hier verbracht. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Besonders freute uns das traditionelle Frühstück, welches wir im ruhigen Innenhof ein letztes Mal geniessen konnte. Zudem hat uns der Gastgeber unsere letzten SOM in Euro gewechselt. Vielen herzlichen Dank.

Maison d'hôtes très bien située... C'est simple mais très propre et l'accueil est vraiment sympathique. Nous avons avons été bien conseillés à notre arrivée aussi bien pour les visites à faire que pour se restaurer à proximité.

avevamo chiesto alla nostra agenzia di Tashkent di venire sistemati in questa guest house perché avevamo letto prima i giudizi e ci era piaciuta molto. L'esperienza diretta è stata sopra le nostre aspettative, molto sopra. Siamo arrivati alle 3 del mattino e ci ha accolto una gentilissima signora anziana che non ha fatto una piega, siamo stati tre notti divise in due occasioni e abbiamo sperimentato due diverse camere ognuna molto accogliente e pulita, i bagni ottimi e la colazione in giardino grandiosa per iniziare bene la giornata. Il proprietario è gentilissimo, molto attento e disponibile, parla un buon inglese e sorride sempre, la posizione è fantastica per il bazar e la relativa stazione della metro. Per me Gulnara è veramente da consigliare.
