Cedar Vista Motel

I’m writing this as a public service. These reviews are fake. The motel is nothing like described and probably has new ownership since 2022. The rooms are not cleaned thoroughly. We got moved to a second room and it wasn’t much better. The first had a dirty toilet and unchanged sheets. The second room had a dirty shower, blankets strewn and probably dirty sheets. The mattresses are from the 1970s. The decor from the 1960s. We slept in our clothes. Everything from the doors, plumbing, walls etc is falling apart and lack maintenance. The badly peeling paint on the doors should have tipped us off. There is something strange about this place. People coming and going all night meeting up with the guy running the place. In all the years we’ve relied on this forum for reviews this is the first that was so blatantly off. There is no way these reviews are real. It was a $230 lesson for us.

Very friendly, helpful managers. The lady even suggested alternative walking directions to the marina, minimizing staying on Hwy 6. There was also a bbq grill that guests can use. The room was decent, with a fridge, coffee maker, a table and a couple of chairs we could use for meals. A microwave is available for use in the office. There was one case though where we had to follow up about clean up. Understandable though because it was a busy time and we were embarassed as well since we did make a couple of messes/accidents.

Petit motel bien placé, en périphérie de Tobermory. Possibilité de se rendre à pied dans le downtown mais mieux vaut s’y rendre en voiture, à 2 minutes, la highway 6 étant fréquentée. Les chambres cependant sont petites, et pas tres propre. L’accueil est tres sympathique et les hôtes sont à l’écoute des clients, chose à noter !
