The apartments at whispering are on the sea, accessable by stairs, with two pools, a tennis court and gym, two bedrooms with an amazing restaurant across the street. Maid service is available. As far as the complaints about no washer and dryer(available upon request) and few pots and pans, etc.,Remember it is Jamaica and not New York !Enjoy the weather, food and people!

The complex’s is well situated in the coast with nice views and fun shared amenities such as a salt and fresh water pool (party time area with loud music and lots of MJ smoke!), tennis, etc. The apartments are quite large but varied in quality so beware what you book here! We were placed in B202 (managed by Melanie) which, unlike what was advertised, missed several basic appliances, furnishings, cooking utensils/cookware/basics, and most irritating for us, a washer and dryer … a key reason why we booked here. We witnessed that other apartments under the same owner were better stocked so not sure how we ended up with the rump (not even a place to hang a towel!). The owner was apologetic for the inconveniences but still took our reservation and charged full rate knowing the place was not as advertised. This seems to be a consistent ethical theme here in Jamaica (so far three bookings, three major deficiencies) where services and amenities are listed at reservation but not actually available upon arrival.

I recently stayed at what I thought, upon arrival, would be a perfect condo. The host, Melanie, seemed to be very amiable and helpful at the onset. The unit was stunning and the grounds and property were absolutely lovely. However, Immediately we noted a very leaky master air conditioner and dryer that did not work, and reported these to hosts who sent someone out quickly but who said these items weren't fixable. Continuing on, we continued to find missing or inaccurately portrayed amenities; only had 4 towels that after 4 days, were used up, 1 tiny tube of a combo shampoo/conditioner were individual name brand shampoos, conditioners, soaps and bath gel were listed, no dish towels, except the dirty cleaning rag used and left by housekeeping. Host again was good to bring some of these items, though not as the amenities listed indicated. We found more each day or each hour perhaps, that was not as promised on the amenity list: No dishwasher, no hot tub, no easy beach access nearby, no access to the water at all, no hairdryer, no blender, no hot pads...well, you get the idea. Each time we kindly asked the hostess who, as the requests built up, became less and less amiable, finally reviewing us as 'very needy', and indicating we were lying about missing amenities on Airbnb. She expected us to use a dryer in another unit, at the time she was available to take us, but of course, we were on vacation in Jamaica and had plans outside of those during which we were to do our laundry. We were willing to forgo the amenities like dishwasher and hot tub, but on review, only requested these be removed from their list of amenities (63 in all, but over a dozen not actually there or in working or repairable order). We were very disappointed as Airbnb would neither remove their character defaming review of us as 'very needy', and less than honest guests, nor would they insist Lance and Melanie present honestly only those amenities they actually offered. Finally, we were refused the $500 (of $1500+ paid) we had in exasperation, requested in desperation for some sense of justice. The complex is lovely as are the units, and were actually built by these hosts, but I would avoid renting from these particular people. They do not have what they say they have and cannot handle constructive criticism on the matter.
