Eriksberg Hotel & Nature Reserve

This is a beautiful and unique place. Unfortunately, the service has not been able to keep up with the growth of the place. The people in the reception is not very friendly, the restaurant is terrible. It took us 45 minutes to get our starter and more than 2 hours to get the main dish for a pre-ordered menu. We have booked a room for two adults and two kids, but there were no bed for the kids when we arrived. I recommend Mellby Gård to look into their great inves**ent and invest in better staff. A wonderful place like this deserves better!! / Johan

We booked a four day trip with them. 1st night - very poor service at the restaurant, forgot our dessert, brought food to us with one thumb on the inner side of the plates, water bottles were empty but waitresses were chatting. Spoke to the reception and she apologized and said the manager will speak to us the next day at dinner time, which of course didn’t happen. We booked also fishing packages, and we were told to depart at 8:00am. But the guide was told to arrive at 9:00. Then the fishing guide didn’t know that we have a full day package. They only booked him until 12:00 noon, and the guide had to leave at 12:00. We were not informed that the place is very swampy, and my runners with memory foam inner shoe soles absorbed nicely . Now writing the review after the guide departed and shoes being dried under the sun….. with photos of our empty glasses, water bottles and lunch package included.

Such a cool place that had so much to do. You live right in the nature reserve. We drove around and saw many animals, could also stop at a really beautiful look out point and go for swim. The hotel area is a cute village with old houses and the animals come really close. Nice walking paths around a lake and a tall tower you can climb up to see the view. In the evening we were alone in the spa area with heated pool and lovely view from the sauna.

With just a short look at Eriksbergs wedsite we booked 2 nights expecting a hotell with a couple of jacuzzies and a wild life reserve close by. We booked the suite 'Davids hjorten', because of the wonderful sauna in the room. The 'resort' blow our mind, exceeding all our expectations, it was right up our ally and we will return. Bringing the whole family. The hotel is actually a big farm, a "Sätteri" (Old Mansion that during some time in history was exempt from tax and insteed had to provide a Knight to the state.) The wildlife reserve is not close by. You are living inside it. The Sätteri is in the middle of a huge (925+ hectare, around 2250 acres) enclosure. This was so amazing and surprising for me and my wife. We got to drive our own car through the reserve and we saw all animals. Davidshjort, Vincent (European bison), Kronhjort, Dovhjort, Vildsvin, Havsörn and muflonfår. There were a couple of places during the drive where we got to stop and step out of the car. We stayed at the synvilla out in the park. It was recommented to us by the staff for the best experience of the animals Its a very beautiful place and the synvilla is the most beautiful "cabin" you could wish for. a large bed, a living room with a window in the floor so you can se the animals below the cabin. a small kitchen with a gas burner to heat water for coffee or tea and perhaps food?. Also a refrigiator. A compost toilet, no running water, but 2 small water"tanks". So a little primitive. We knew this and for 1 or 2 nights its ok. You could take a shower at the village (near the reception, restaurants and the rest of the hotel facilities). But we wanted to be near the animals not other people, so this was the ideal cabin for us. You get 2 large cans of corns to attract the animals and a green light is on when animals are under the house and is moving. So you can se them, also at night. We saw a family or wild boars under the house through the window in the floor. great experience to sit in a heatet room and look down on the wild life. We also saw a large flock of deers. In the morning we saw a sea eagle, diffent ducks, a lot of Nuthatch and the view over the lake/ocean was just magnificent. You could sit for hours on the balcony and just enjoy looking at the wild life and nature. We are coming back, to stay at the synvilla. No doubt. Maybe in the spring. The park is also a safaripark where you can drive around in your own car in the summer and se the park. But after 18 its closed but if you stay there you can enjoy the park in the evening and morning. What a great place

Fantastiska rum. Uppdelningen av boende i flera byggnader i olika stil gav en lugn och trevlig a**osfär. Vi hade hundar som vi anmält med oss och dom kände sig väldigt välkomna. Vi kan rekommendera Havsörnens femrättersmeny, den satte ekstra guldkant på vistelsen. Servicen var fantastisk och kunnig. Missa inte safarituren och glöm inte att ladda ner appen, den leder dig förtjänstfullt genom parken med information om vad du kan förväntas se på olika platser när du är på dem.

Bra bemötande, u**ärkt service och god mat. Plus en fin upplevelse vanstyren på området.
