Lane Head Farm Country Guest House

Lane Head Farm is a great place to stay in the Lake District! Surachi and her family run a great operation and my stay was relaxing and a welcome balm to my travel weary soul. I stayed here for almost a week at the end of an eight week travel stint and loved it. Location wise I found it quite “central” to everything in the Lake District being about 10 minutes from Keswick and an hour or so to Lake buttermere, coniston, and Derwent. Driving was super easy and there’s good parking at lane head. Breakfast was amazing and Surachi cooks it all herself. It was good for me to have Surachi around in the mornings for quick chats and the other guests eating together. Though the hot breakfast options are all vegetarian the food is plentiful and very tasty. I definitely recommend the mushrooms in the English breakfast. I stayed in room 7 and the bed was comfortable and the room spacious and well appointed. I did manage to somehow turn off the heaters in the room and bathroom but the bedding was warm enough that the heaters weren’t needed.

I was given a warm welcome from Suruchi upon arrival. Lane head farm became a perfect base for walking the fells with direct access to the A66. Keswick is just a few minutes away by car. The rooms had all the amenities required to unwind after the long days adventures or even enjoy sitting out in the garden soaking up the veiws. I will definitely consider returning again.

Great environment and a perfrct place to stay, if like us, you are looking for a place to stay whilst exploring the lakes. I was travelling with my mother and the host, Suruchi and her son, were excellent! We will definitely choose to stay here again!

A very pleasant owner and a beautiful room. I had a great breakfast. The location is a little off the beaten path but absolutely wonderful with beautiful countryside great for people who enjoy the outdoors or just enjoying wonderful scenery

We received a very warm welcome from Suruchi and our room was very comfortable. The setting is superb and ideally placed for hill walking around Blencathra and Aira Force. Several pubs nearby and a wide choice of places to eat in Keswick which is only 10mins by car. Can recommend the masala omelette for breakfast.

What a lovely place to stay Suruchi is a wonderful host and makes you feel very welcome. The scenery is wonderful and the rooms are a genuine treat. Would recommend to anyone. The four poster bed was a lovely touch and made the stay special. Breakfast was wonderful

The most amazing host, really helpful advice. We had a delicious breakfast and a nice conversation. The rooms are clean and tidy, and nicely decorated. We can't wait to come back someday and enjoy it more.

My wife and I had a lovely welcome from Suruchi despite us arriving a little earlier than we planned. The location was easy to find with roomy parking for our SUV. Our four-poster room was both clean and comfortable. No noise at bedtime meant we slept well, waking in a lovely location. Breakfast was tasty and personal. Be sure to take a trip to Keswick (only ten minutes in the car) - it has a cosy feel, with specialist shops, especially in the clothing field, and coffee bars. Overall, a lovely stay. Great value. (And Suruchi was kind enough to post my cap to me which I had left in our room - much appreciated!)

First stopover for us, as a family group of 5 cyclists doing the C2C route. Suruchi was the perfect host, very welcoming and attentive. Our rooms were lovely and clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of options available including freshly baked bread, fruit, cereals and a full vegetarian cooked breakfast. Perfect for a big day on the bikes.
