New Dap Hostel (in Grape Town)

The only hostel in Turpan. Can’t recommend enough. There is a shared tour you could join in a reasonable price. The host speaks excellently English which is a plus. Bathroom is clean. Room is spacious enough and it also has a decent table for online working. A few restaurants nearby

Wonderful guesthouse in a nice location between the city centre and grape valley. Rooms are cosey, spacious and clean and there is a beautiful courtyard. Very friendly english speaking owner.

DAP is a really friendly, well run and comfy place to stay in one of the most laid back areas of Turpan. There are good places to eat nearby, and the owners have lots of great info to share about where to go and what to do. Recommend!

The staff is realy nice there. You get so many information about good spots around Turpan. Even if you have some special desires or questions they probaply find an answer.

When I first set foot in DAP Hostel in Turpan, it was with the intention of a two-night stay. Fast forward two weeks later, I was still there, completely captivated by its charm and the unforgettable people I met. Named after a traditional Xinjiang instrument, this hostel doesn’t just offer beds; it provides experiences. The design is impeccable, and it’s clear there’s a deep respect for detail and the environment. But the real magic? It’s in the people. The hostel owner, the volunteers, and every fellow traveler I encountered - they transformed my trip. From acquaintances to close friends in such a short span, it was incredible. Their open-mindedness, their stories, and the warmth they exuded were infectious. I’m thrilled to say that many of those I met at the DAP Hostel are now close friends. The anticipation of reuniting with them is immense. If you ever find yourself in Turpan, and you crave genuine connections, DAP Hostel is the place. It’s more than accommodation; it’s a family waiting to be discovered.

The hostel is in a beautiful big building in a nice, pretty relaxed neighborhood, with lots of small restaurants and shops. The dorms were comfortable, however it would be nice to provide toilet paper and hand soap in the bathroom... They do organise tours of the area but unfortunately I couldn't find enough people to go as it was low season. However it's easy enough to grab a taxi and go see some of the sites yourself. The lady at reception speaks perfect English, always helpful! Ah and a very very cute golden retriever ;)

Amazing place!!!! Friendly and super helpful owner. Great place to meet fellow travellers. There are local cheap eateries nearby. Highly recommended!!!!! (Ps. If you need them to organize a tour, get Tahir if you are able. He is a very friendly local driver with great English.)
