Gogunda Palace

I have been visiting Gogunda palace since past 3 years. Excellent boutique place and service. Beautiful swimming pool and ambiance. ***ohar Ji provided exceptional service with warmth. He and his team made our trip memorable at restaurant and bar.

Old time residence soaked in history since 15th century belonging to the then Rajput clan. The restored property now a heritage hotel is well maintained , the rooms are reasonably comfortable laced with amenities and large shower areas. They have quite a few suites which can accommodate 4-6 pax each. The hotel buildings encompass couple of lawns and courtyards in the centre, the staff too is courteous and prompt in their responses. Definately a place to visit for a short vacation. Proximity to Udaipur, Haldi Ghati etc is an added lure.

Our recent stay at Gogunda Palace was truly a memorable one. The palace is steeped in history and has been elegantly converted into a luxurious hotel, retaining ***y original architectural features. The palace offered tranquil surroundings with beautifully ***icured gardens, lush green courtyards, rooftop terraces, colorful marble walkways, and water fountains. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, the restaurant offered a wide selection of freshly cooked delicious dishes, and all staff members were attentive and courteous. Your next destination for enjoying Rajasthani hospitality!

Discovered this delightful property while travelling in the outskirts of Udaipur. Learnt that Gogunda was the capital of Mewar during Maharana Pratap’s reign and this palace was built during that era It is a boutique property located within a village. Has beautifully decorated rooms, lush lawns, a swimming pool as well as an ancient temple. It is a heritage property with modern amenities. In fact there is a lift in one block working on ancient technology The staff is very helpful and take good care of the guests

As it was in our bucket list since long, finally we made it now on 15/4/22. When we reached there, they welcomed us with garland and super cool kashmiri kahwa. After finishing the formalities, they guided us to our room. We were amazed by the cleanliness and of course interior. The 500+ heritage property has all the modern amenities. They have 40 rooms but beauty of the thing is none of them are same. The staff is very well trained and courteous. Talking about food, they have a huge menu. They serve Punjabi, Rajasthani, Chinese, Continental to choose from. And taste wise, it was excellent. Even the presentation was so good that even if you don’t want, you feel like having it. As there is no sight seeing nearby, they offer different activities in the property. Swimming, cycling, table tennis, carrom, chess etc. They have spa also, but for that they charge extra. Only one thing is missing, traditional dance/singing(cultural program ), to entertain the guests at night. Must visit property. Preferably, go in group, so you will enjoy it more.

Gogunda palace is approx. 30 Km from Udaipur. I was skeptical at first, but after reading reviews and seeing pics on TripAdvisor, decided to visit it. And boy, I was surprised! Right from the entrance, to the rooms and food, everything was fantastic. The palace has been wonderfully restored. The only drawback of this place is that it does not provide option of recreational activities and there is not much to explore in surroundings. Also, a special thanks to Caption ***ohar who ensured that our taste buds were adequately satisfied.

We had a very enjoyable and peaceful stay. The palace has been wonderfully restored and there are plenty of hidden alcoves and staircases to explore. Highly recommend staying there! I would definitely stay there again.

Every room was super clean smelled amazing and was very historic with modern 5 star touch. I have travelled around the world and stayed in 5 star hotels and resorts and this place is definitely comparable to the 5 star standard or more. Highlighting restaurant staff and chefs who are extremely passionate about their cooking and service standard food and service was on point Every single person we came across from front of house to maintenance depar**ent were very polite and welcoming Thank you Sukhlal and ***ohar singh for amazing masala tea We will back next year again with whole family and hope to see your all happy faces again Best wishes Arpan Bella and family

We stayed in Gogunda Palace due to its close proximity to Ranakpur temple (GP is an hr away from Udaipur city and on the way to Ranakpur). After a bit of research we were convinced to stay here based on the past reviews and the beautiful pictures of the property. Property: The hotel is a 15th century palace that has been impeccably restored with a lot of attention to detail. The minute you enter the property from a royal, 500 year old, 20 foot gate, you know its gonna be special! The highlight of the stay was the 10-11 unique Raaj Mahal suites that each have their own style and decor. In fact a few of them have art that dates back more than 450 years. If available, the hotel gives you the option of choosing the suite you like after a brief tour, and believe me, each suite is better than the other. The amenities in the room were very new and the bathrooms were fully stocked, super clean and very well designed. I would recommend spending some time with the staff who can take you for a full tour of the hotel while learning its history. Do also visit the hotel terraces during sunset for a sight to behold! Service: 5 star!! The staff was warm, welcoming and ensured that all our needs were met. (I was travelling with my wife who was 6 months pregnant). Special mentions to - Mr. Bhavar Singh, who showed us around the hotel, Mr. Nikhil and Mr. Anup - who took care of all our dietary needs, Mr. Sudhanshu and Mr. Pardeep for all the hospitality. Definitely going back, highly recommend!
