Hotel de la Mer

Great location and view of the Mediterranean! The manager was very helpful with helping us get settled and ordering a taxi for us.

Beautiful and charming hotel right on the beach. Every room has a lovely view of the sea. We loved it!

Whilst the initial impression of the hotel and our room was that the decor was tired, I must say it was spotlessly clean. The bed was a small double accessible only from one side which made a night time visit to the toilet difficult for my husband. The bathroom was tiny but again, clean and perfectly functional. The toilet was in a separate cupboard. There was no furniture in the room (due to its very compact size) and a small fold up table would have helped greatly. There was a inbuilt wardrobe with sufficient space for clothes etc. However the real highlight is the hotel’s location opposite a pristine & clean beach, and just a few minutes walk away from the main town, which meant it was quieter at night. And also another plus was the room’s balcony with table, two chairs and a reclining deck chair. Perfect for a spot of sunbathing (or for either myself or my husband to get out of my way whilst we took it in turns to get ready in our small room!) The staff were friendly but no one spoke to us in English which is fine as I can manage with my basic French but some may struggle. We didn’t take breakfast as there was no outside seating option and we preferred to sit out and make the most of the weather. Overall, a lovely little hotel in a superb French beach resort.

We originally made our booking for the Hôtel de la Mer at the end of 2019 but due to the COVID-19 travelling restrictions that prevented trips to France, we had to wait more than 2 years for our visit. It was so worth the wait : the proprietors and all the staff were charming and helpful, the rooms were kept beautifully clean and the hotel could not be better placed for the beach and the town. We loved every minute of our stay.

We stayed in an amazing sea view room with a balcony. Great to sit out on the balcony and take in the views. Room matched description on **********. Breakfast was €10 and was very good value. We will be backk when next in Valras Plage

The rooms are very small as is common in French hotels. I'm not sure if it would be possible for the bathroom to be smaller than it is. That said, the rooms are clean and fine, the balcony is nice and the beach is right across the street. That's the main point of the hotel. I'd recommend it.

Accueil sympathique vous pourrez demander à l’accueil des conseils pour dîner. Hôtel les pieds dans l’eau simple avec vue mer . Les chambres et l’hôtel en général est très propre .Le petit déjeuner est copieux . Parking en face de l’hôtel ( gratuit hors saison ) . Je recommande l’endroit ……..
