Hotel Canal & Walter

Странно, но поселили меня в 4-х местный номер, хотя бронировал на одного. Я читал отзывы об отеле и все они правы- отель старый и уставшие номера. Но не критично. И это не испортило мои впечатления от Венеции) а скорее даже погрузило в атмосферу старины))) Для меня было важно расположение отеля, а оно идеальное)))

Room and 🚽 are rather small. If the 🏨 is over 100 euro per night, dont recommend to stay.

Wifi doesn’t work 😒 breakfast is not good and smell 😒

The hotel is across the canal from the train station but Google map didn’t know how to get there. There is no elevator. The rooms are old and one of our rooms had leaking from the ceiling of the bathroom but they refused to change the room for us. Some of the staffs were friendly but others were not helpful at all. This is very old hotel with rundown condition. Room WiFi service was not totally unable to connect throughout the stay. There was no lift and we have to manually carry our luggage. First day of arrive, we were give a room a third floor which totally unexpected without having a lift to carry out belongings manually. After request front desk staff, we were given another room at Hotel Air One which is next building to Hotel Canal and Walter. But there was no lift too and room TV was not working at all. Hotel Air One is extremely old and we didn’t see any guests at all. Next day, we managed to get a room at 1st floor in Hotel Canal and Walter. For family, I don’t recommend this hotel.

The Canal & Walter is extremely old. I understand that…BUT…updates have not been made in YEARS AND YEARS. The young staff at the front desk are great. The gentleman running breakfast couldn’t be better. ROOM 102 The bathroom has black mold - there is a window in the shower with a curtain rod BUT NO CURTAIN. So the window is rotting and moldy. The shower head is broken. The bathroom has a floor drain but when new tile was installed MANY YEARS AGO the drain was not raised so it is an extremely bad trip hazard. There are NO towel rods. There are no safety handles in the slick tub/shower. Entering the bathroom there is a 3-4” step - another trip hazard. The furnishings, from the 1960’s, in this room are totaling worn out. There is only one luggage rack so the only option is to use one of the two chairs or the small desk. This is very inconvenient. When scanning the room for items we might have missed in packing, we found garbage under the bed. The breakfast is sufficient. I would give one star out if 5, at best. The smell of bug spray was so overwhelming that it seemed toxic. The air conditioning unit did not work so unknowingly we opening the windows for some fresh air only to wake up with dozens or more mosquito bites. We stayed 3 nights. The 2nd night we closed the windows and relied on the air conditioning unit. After a long night of restless hot sleep, we left for the day only to return to find the UNIT WAS TURNED OFF by the staff.

Sightseen is nice , breakfast is good
