Hotell Slottsbacken

We had such an amazing experience staying at Hotell Slottsbacken. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room, although a little cosy, had all the amenities and the bed was very comfortable. We had a view of the sea behind the trees. Everything was clean. The breakfast was amazing with vegan and gluten-free options available. We would love to return again in the future and definitely recommend it to others looking for a hotel in Visby!

Nice and cosy small hotel, well situated ,short distance to everything in the old town. Unfortunately daily maintenance seems to be neglected -in our room safe did not work, hand shower also broken and some spotlights in the roof. No aircond in the room so can be pretty warm during summertime.

Booked the room becuse they advertised WiFi and Caboe TV and we really needed both . WiFI was horrible and cable TV didn’t even exist. Blaming myself for not checking reviews better beforehand because then I would have seen that already in 2021and 2022 hotel got bad reviews for just WiFi and cable . The girls that worked in the front desk was absolutely amazing and very sweet and helpful and helped us solve our issues the best they could being very creative. Cable TV doesn’t exist there even though they advertise it and WiFi seams to be a problem owners have no intention to solve . The hotel Should be very thankful for their amazing staff .

Very nice, slightly rustic feel. Incredibly friendly staff. Delightful five minute stroll to the center of Visby. Highly recommend!

Wonderful hotel, perfect location just a few minute's walk from Stora Torget. Clean, cozy rooms, fantastic breakfast, pleasant staff, very reasonably priced. Plenty of street parking available when we were there (beginning of May). (*) There is, however something we'd like to point out. In order to conserve water, the hotel encourages its guests to "say no to room cleaning", to keep washing towels and bed linens to a minimum. Great in theory, especially if you are only there a few nights. We had a longer stay, and would have appreciated our room being tidied up a bit (after all, we're paying the service). Since no staff came in the room, towards the end of our stay, we had to hunt down toilet paper and shower gel, and our trash can was overflowing. Luckily we were able to get hold of the receptionist before she left for the day to get a new TP roll. Most hotels clean rooms daily, and change towels when guests request that. The universal "throw towels on the bathroom floor if you want new ones" would have worked well at Hotell Slottsbacken. We were left with the feeling that while we were trying to be environmentally conscious, we were giving the cleaning crew a free pass. That said, we would absolutely stay at Hotell Slottsbacken again if we ever return to Gotland.

Old warehouse made hotel, close to everythijng. 10 minutes' walk from the ferry and even shorter to downtown Visby; very service-minded staff, and excellent breakfast; the room was very cousy; highly recommended place!

I stayed in a beautiful room in an charming old building. It was spacious and had everything that I needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very nice old hotel in great location, just outside main center of Visby - 5 mins walk to main square. Staff very friendly and good breakfast. As an old hotel it doesn’t have air conditioning and rooms can get hot when the weather is sunny.
