Citrus Waskaduwa

I had a wonderful experience at Citrus Waskadu. The buffet was outstanding, offering a wide variety of delicious options. The pool added a refreshing touch to the stay, perfect for relaxation. However, the bar area can get quite lively, especially when there's a DJ. If you're looking for a quieter evening, it might be wise to request a room further from the noise. Overall, a fantastic stay with just a small note for those preferring a more tranquil night.

Great place to stay and nice people working there. Only even better if, rooms could be a bit newer.

Hotel is modern , fresh , well maintained . Perfect for a relaxing vacation with gym , excellent long pool , yoga , sports area . Access to the beach is private and peaceful. Food spread was lavish Nd tasty . Staff is very friendly Nd goes out of the way to help you . We enjoyed the wide spread of food for new years gala dinner . Bar has good choice of liquor. You can take a tuktuk from hotel lobby roam around to see local life . Go to kalatura rich look store or others for cheap but good quality daily wear clothes . Beach is little rough . Spending 5 nights with hotel was relaxing then we moved to bentota to enjoy the beach which is smooth Nd one of the best I have come across travelling world around . Special thank to Tusharri to ensure we had the best stay Nd the personal touch she provided and Mr Prasad Wijesyriya for maintaining the hotel so well . You can always see them around with a smile and ensuring all guests are happy checking on them . Key feature is the long swimming pool . We are staying at Taj bentota now but we found citrus much better with pool , rooms and pricing for quality .

It is our first visit to Citrus Waskaduwa . We were given a warm welcome by Front Office Lady Manager Thushari. She served us welcome drinks with a warm and welcoming way. Our first impression was superb. We booked 4 rooms . Chef Fernando served us excellent food. . We released our rooms by 12 noon as the hotel was full on our check out date and we were waiting in the lobby until the lunch time 12.30pm. That time again we met Thusharai and talked with our family . Not only foreigners they , take good care for SriLankans as well. Restaurant staff and service was very good. We will definitely come back and recommend to our friends.

The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful despite the large number of guests. We thought the food was delicious! It catered very well to the Sri Lankan palate. Room was big and comfy. The bar was wonderful, with a range of food and drink and lovely ambiance. The gardens were large with good beach access. However, there is definitely room for improvement. We couldn't take a shower ( or even wash our feet) as the water completely flooded the rest of the bathroom. We had to go to our children's room to take a shower. This is totally unacceptable for a hotel of this repute. Pity as the bathroom itself is beautifully designed.The sheets had stains on them and there were flies in our room. Also, we were seated in the garden enjoying the beauty and tranquility of nature when some guests planted a huge speaker next to us which started blasting loud, raucous music. I'm surprised and disappointed that the hotel allows this kind of noise pollution.

This hotel is just amazing. The food is great (almost everything is spicy, but thats something you should expect in Sri Lanka), we always chose something so we were never hungry. The sweeties such as cheesecakes, puddings, pies etc. were unbelievably good. The only thing that bothered us was that there wasn’t any snacks throughout the day between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner, which is something we would like to have in all inclusive. You can buy some burgers, french fries etc. at the hotel but it is pretty expensive and i have never seen anyone buying it there. Fortunately we were always full so it was not a big problem. The staff was delightful, always keeping smile on their faces and they treated us as Gods. Some of them might be doing it only for some money from you, but most of them are honestly really nice (I at least hope that not all of them did it for money). Only the room service guy really did it only for the money, we could tell. Mentioning room service, after every room cleaning they kept all the lights and A/C turned ON. The A/C is nice but we didn’t get why they couldn’t switch the lights off, it is such a waste of energy. The rooms were almost the same as in the pictures, they were a bit rusty but nothing terrible. Only the fridge smell weird... If you are coming from Europa, you have to keep in mind that you are coming to indian country, so you can`t have big expectations, even though it is a five stars hotel. We had a great time in this hotel and I would always recommend it.
