I came with my 2 Children and I highly recommend this place. The hotel is amazing with a cool yard / lobby area and our room was well equipped + super clean. Staff was so nice and helpful we actually got an upgrade. The best about it maybe the location, it's close to the beach and in a small village that is still quiet with a very laid back vibe (it almosy feel feels like Thailand, ot at least how I knew Hainan 10 years ago) There is plenty of shops/coffee/ restaurant right on the door step. Surfing spots are nearby with waves for all levels (if come with kids I recommend going nearby the bridge on the right side of the beach). We will come back !

My room on the 3rd floor was quite nice and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The team at Surfers Garden is great. They were friendly and helpful from the time I booked up until the day I left. There are convenience stores, restaurants, rentals and other amenities close by, making the location great.

The vibe at Surfers Garden is chill and cool but a little bit too much. My room had no towels, no toilet paper. Cabinet to store my things in the shared room couldn’t lock. The room itself can’t lock from the outside as well and too often when I was looking for someone at the reception there were no one … When you finally catch someone to give you a towel, be aware that it’s a disposable towel. So better bring your own. In the morning, don’t hope to get a coffee at their bar before 9am or 10am. The whole place looks a bit messy and the reception space looks unfinished. Staff is friendly tho. The guesthouse is surrounded by many little shops and local restaurants. You can reach the Ri Yue Wan beach where you will find bar/coffee, clubs, shops, surfing clubs etc. in 15 min walking or 5min by e-bike. Ri Yue Wan beach area is definitely the place to be to enjoy a good “beach/surfer” vibe sipping a cocktail in front of the beach. At night, this place turn into a music festival area where everyone display live show music and DJ and expect fireworks on the beach almost every 15min. If you are looking for surfing club in this area, I would recommend to check Shaka surf club. Good service, good price, and so far the most professional to me at Ri Yue Wan.

looks the hostel used the cheapest furniture from taobao and decorated with it. the table is not stable, the bed is falling apart, the bathroom is below standards. you will get a single use towel. not cheap, for a hostel.

It’s a 20 min walk to the beach - I’d recommend renting a scooter if you are staying for more than a night. The walking route is through some dusty road in repair and you have to cross some sort of highway - not the most convenient. Though it’s located in a lively neighborhood with lots of food options. The reception area is sort of messy and there’s no real space to hangout. It feels more like an unfinished lobby space with carton boxes on one side and work out equipments on another. Could be better so arriving residents can feel more welcomed.

The service was okay. When we wanted to upgrade our room to something better, they were very nice and helped us get another room which wasn't much more expensive. The facilities were okay too. It's a pretty chill place so I wasn't expecting much. The beds were nice and soft. The air conditioning worked well. I like the screen projector. It's close to a nice hot pot and late night barbecue place too. We were able to get food after 3 AM, which is a plus.
