The Bulls Head Inn

A huge thank you to The Bull's Head for catering for a small gathering following my mother's funeral in early October. I remember this pub from growing up in Ewhurst. The refurbishment has really brought it up to date for the 2020s and the function room in what I recall used to be the family dining area is lovely. The fact that the dining areas and bar of the pub are really dog-friendly was really good and the staff concern and attention to detail in making sure our small, low-key event ran well was great; thank you so much to Becky. In particular, the food was amazing - the suggested menu looked great and was even better when we actually got to taste it. The ability to take away leftovers packaged in take-away boxes was also super so nothing went to waste. Thank you so much to Justin for the food. Next time we are in area we will definitely be back and it is wonderful to see The Bull's Head still going and providing a superb service in the heart of a Surrey Hills village.

The room was small but functional although too much light from the hallway and bathroom rather spoiled my night and had to resort to putting towels down to blot it out. Continental breakfast was good and Danny and his team made us feel welcome….. same for the wedding lunch…… well prepared food…… sadly we had to eat and run. I still think 85ukp is too much for a room at a pub but I wish them every success for the future……

We haven't been to this Inn since it changed hands and we have been missing out! We had perhaps the best beef roast that we've ever eaten. The seating, decor and music are comfortable and relaxing, the staff are lovely, the menu is exciting and we look forward to returning soon.

I booked a "luxury double room" with en suite bathroom at this village pub with rooms, and stayed one night. I had a reasonably friendly welcome and was given my room key with instructions on how to use it, but no help was offered with my case which I had to lug up the stairs, as the guy seemed in a rush to go and speak to some locals in the bar. The room - room 1 - was pretty good, the bed was lovely and comfortable and the room was reasonably well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, television etc. However it was very warm so I opened the windows and straight away noticed a problem with a lot of noise from what I assume was an extractor fan for the kitchen. I went back downstairs and asked a rather offhand lady if the fan was going to be turned off overnight but she also was in a rush to get to the bar, talking to me over her shoulder as she walked off and handing me over to a chef who asked me which room I was in, and when I told him room 1 he was clearly aware of the problem and said the fan would be turned off overnight. Unfortunately this was an untruth and the fan stayed on, making sleep difficult and completely spoiling my stay. The continental breakfast in the morning was nice but you just help yourself and there was no sign of any staff on reception either when I went to check out, so I just left my key on the desk. The whole experience felt very impersonal and I just felt like I was a money source, I didn't feel particularly looked after.

Beautiful hotel, plenty of parking, charming manager and staff, huge family room, comfortable bed, tea, coffee, biscuits, tap & bottled water in the room. Quiet village setting, delicious dinner and diy continental breakfast with everything you need set out + food & juices in the fridge.

Ewhurst has eagerly awaited the return of The Bulls Head Inn. The wait has certainly been worth it!!! What an asset to our village!! I’ve visited many times (too many!) both with friends & family - but also on my own. The team are all so welcoming and friendly. Atmosphere, Service & Food = Incredible!! Great selection of drinks (I’m working my way through the wine list!) A community with such a ‘wish list’ is hard to please but in my opinion you are smashing it!! Thank you for giving us our pub back!
