Addo Elephant Safari Lodge - Bellevue Forest Reserve

We spent our anniversary at Bellevue Forest Reserve and it was absolutely magical. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel special and welcomed with genuine warmth. A big thumbs up for Hadre! Our accommodation had breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness – the perfect romantic escape. Our game drive was a highlight; seeing the lion cubs up close with such a knowledgeable guide Proppie made it even more memorable. Bellevue truly went above and beyond to make our anniversary memorable.

We had the most amazing time here. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and beds very comfy. We did the giraffe walk and also 3 game drives while we were there. Julian our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable, we got up close to the lions, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and many more. Would love to have stayed longer, unfortunately we didn’t get to see Tswale the elephant while we were there, what an amazing story he has and now he is free at this amazing game reserve. It was really fun we went on a safari with the best tour guide named Shaun he made jokes and was telling us about all the animals now I know that elephant have 40,000 muscles in there trout and when we saw lion foot Print I was happy because it’s my favorite animal and I told him that an the next second we saw him but more about the staff they were so nice and helpful when we had to leave I didn’t want to leave Shaun was the best.

We really enjoyed our morning walk to the giraffes and had a great gamedrive. The room was very good even though you can hear some nice from the N10. Nice staff.

What a great place.... Great rooms (ask for a refurbished one!), great location, exemplary staff and service, and a more than average chance of animal spotting close up. More personal than the larger Game Reserves, and helpful in every way to please.

Her favorite animals are giraffes, so what could be better than a Giraffe Walk? It was her 30th birthday, which I mentioned when booking, and they made it so special! Since it was such an important day for her, they arranged for just the two of us to be on the tour. On top of that, she received a little muffin with a candle, which was such a thoughtful touch! With our guide, Jona, we were lucky to find the giraffes very quickly. The entire experience was incredible! Thanks to Jona’s knowledge and passion for the animals, we felt completely relaxed and safe throughout. He was an amazing ranger—you could really tell how much he loves his job, and it made the experience even better. The giraffes were so close to us, and they are truly beautiful creatures. We loved every moment of it and couldn’t recommend this experience enough!
