Origin Westminster, a Wyndham Hotel

I loved this hotel! I was passing through and everything was super clean, all the staff I interacted with were super friendly and helpful and it was quiet. Would definitely stay here again!

I wanted to rate this high because the rooms and property are well decorated BUT my god, the sleep was terrible. There are no opening windows so you feel claustrophobic and overheated if you don’t have the AC unit on. It flicks on with this bright green light every time it turns on (stupidest design of any temperature control unit I’ve ever seen) and is insanely loud when it comes on waking you out of your sleep. There is also an extremely bright blue light that you can’t turn on by the door that illuminates the room in such a way that you’d swear it’s daylight. While I can appreciate the amenities like the nice gym, lobby, retro refrigerator and blackout curtains (useless with the inside lights), it doesn’t outweigh the main point of being there: SLEEP!

Unfortunately our first room started to flood while I was taking a shower so we had to pack up and move rooms. Then our second room the toilet was finicky and you had to jiggle the hand wait for it to reset then you could flush and parking is not great.

Before I arrived, the hotel called to see if they could do anything to prepare for my stay. Loved that! And when I arrived, I had extra blankets and towels. We opted for a two bedroom suite which was so spacious and nice. My other pain was the soaking tub stopper did not work so my son couldn’t take a bath. The front desk advised they would send someone and no one ever came to fix it so essentially I wasted money on the cleaning products I bought to clean the tub.

The manager Rachel is awful. I was running late getting back from the airport for checkout and she told me if I’m 15 minutes late she was charging me for another day. Literally won’t give guests an extra 15 minutes. No understanding, no grace, awful customer service.

There were many problems during my stay. When the television was turned on it froze on the YouTube channel with the remote being inoperable. Front desk suggested I reach behind the television to unplug the unit. This seemed very awkward and I requested that the front desk do so. The clerk appeared promptly and executed the task but this did not solve the problem nor did a new remote. I had no television during my stay. I found the bathroom sink faucet to not be seated properly and wiggled. The shower door was another problem because it did not stay closed and leaked on the floor until I wedged a handcloth in between the sliding door and the fixed glass panel. Lastly, the bedside lamp buzzed loudly until I repositioned the lampshade. Seems like the contractors should be taken to task about the quality of their work.

Located across the street from a movie theater, coffee shop and walking distance from McDonald’s and other fine shopping.

This is a very nice, new hotel in a developing area. The check-in process was quick and painless and the room was very comfortable. Blackout curtains made it easy to sleep in. There are lists of fun things to do in the area in the room which was a nice touch. I'd be happy to stay here again!

The onsite restaurant is fabulous...the staff are very nice...the property is very nice...one downer is the huge sink in the bathroom is a bit weird and hard to keep clean due to the slow drain and the parking lot in the back of the property is very small...I witnessed a couple of staff parking in the lot and was a bit sad that staff were allowed to park in the small lot which makes even less parking for guests.
