the hotel is indeed in an amazing location, very clean and with all amenities. however, the passport of my partner was ripped by one of the staff members at check in, and it was made little to no effort in trying to fix the situation. the explanation was that 'friends with ripped passports could travel anyway', and I am writing this feedback while we are on our way to Beijing to the embassy because it is not valid to travel back to Europe anymore. moreover; no one speaks English, not even the bare minimum, and this whole situation was even more stressful because could not communicate. another minor thing is that we requested to add breakfast for check in, which we were obviously planning to pay for it. since it was stated to be a gift probably because of the situation, we just showed up next morning and when we arrived at the breakfast room it was not sorted. we were so annoyed with the whole hotel staff that we decided to have breakfast somewhere else.
it was a very unpleasant experience which ruined our brief holiday in China and the time in Xi'An, especially as we had to spend a lot of time trying to reach our embassy for something which was not our fault, and even replanning the trip. what can I say? thanks ibis for ruining our holiday and make us very frustrated!
