Xingping This Old Place International Youth Hostel

We spent Chinese New Year here and had an amazing time. The staff were all friendly and always willing to help and accommodating. We had private rooms and the beds were comfortable, it was very cold and the rooms had heaters the showers had warm water but could’ve been hotter. The hostel has a large menu with everything from local cuisine to pizzas, waffles and pancakes all the food we had was good and I would recommend the bamboo chicken soup, fried noodles and the beef duck was great! I’d recommend this hostel to anyone wanting to stay a few days in this beautiful location.

Friendly staff, very reasonable price. Helpful. Room is nice, very neat and has a great view. However, rooms are accessible by stairs so plan your luggage

On the plus side, this hotel has a great location (near the river, near busses, near old town... Easy to walk everywhere); the rooftop patio and restaurant are great for hanging out on a rainy day; and it is very clean. On the minus side, there was no airport pick up or drop off ( and it is a long way from the airport in Guilin - take the train from there); the front desk doesn't speak English and isn't helpful at all about arranging tours or setting up transportation; also, the street out front is very noisy (our room was on the front), so if you are looking for a quiet place with the sounds of nature, this isn't it (if you want to be right where the action is, this is the place for you).

place is well located and price is ok for the value they offer, however, food service is not the best and not very slow.

Very clean and beautiful location ! Right near a hike and the river

The hotel is very clean, I took a single bedroom (pretty small) and I had to use the common bathroom which were in very good condition. The staff is helpful and provides a book with the details of the different hikes around. The book is not fully up to date but it helps a lot. I would recommend to stay there.

Accepts foreigners. Great location. Fantastic view from the rooftop. Very friendly gave lots of information. Good clean room. Recommended
