Occidental Marco Polo

On arriving at the marco polo I realised I had left my bag with money credit cards phone etc on the bus. The hotel staff were amazing. The reception staff, concierge and a representative from TTS all helped. Within a very short time they had located my bag much to my relief. A member of staff took a taxi and picked up my bag and brought it back to the hotel. I can't praise their speed and professionalism enough. The hotel was lovely. The pool was fantastic. The service and friendliness from the staff was lovely. The food was varied although sometimes not very hot. The room was clean and the gentleman that cleaned it made a lovely effort decorating our bed with the towels and flowers, a lovely touch. All in all our stay was very relaxing and good value for money. Many thanks to you all.

Already 6 times in this hotel! The food is top notch. The pool is always clean. The bartenders and waiters are polite. But this time the animation became better! Aqua aerobics before lunch was very lively. In the evening dancing in different styles. Most of all I remember the animator Pikachu. Very energetic, cheerful and kind man. Always raised the mood of the audience, well done! Very cool dancer, I wish you success in career advancement!!!

We arrived at this hotel for a short break. First impressions ok but then we went to our room. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, no toiletries, not even toilet paper, curtains that didn’t close even half way and a musty stale smell. Went immediately down to reception and asked to change. Second room better but no coat hangers so back to reception again. Took over a day to get a safe as staff have to come with you for some reason. As for the food, worst we have ever experienced, cold, raw chicken, flies landing on bread and the plates. Never had food as bad as this. Chairs in restaurant were dirty, never been cleaned and microwave was filthy. I believe easyJet have pulled this holiday and I can see why. This is not a 4 star hotel, not even a 3 star.

Was worried after reading a few reviews but actually had a good holiday and is the best hotel we have stayed in Tunisia so far. You have to remember 4star is not the same in every country and yes we could nit pick some of the decor. But overall the hotel is very clean, bed comfy, staff very friendly. lovely pool and leave deposit for pool towels at reception. bottles water from bar. we was early in season so no jacuzi in pool, only one restaurant open. there was some painting going on and could see prep work to open other ones soon. Wifi all over the hotel, even can get on beach sometimes. Smart tv in rooms so had netflix / prime just remember to log yr account out . Food is well presented , can find something nice to eat, fresh cooked fish/turkey/beef and always pizza/pasta if you not adventurous. the only thing i would say is leave anything hot to put on plate last as cold plates and by time got salad etc, food warm. does get a bit samey but thats all inc -usual lots pastries at breakfast, eggs cooked/ pancakes fresh fruit/cakes tip the staff and they look after you, but they pleasant regardless . my only bad points i would make is Air-conditioning. they dont put on till july !! but luckily most times quite breeze. but did make difficult to sleep some nights and noisy with birds in morning as having door open all night. entertainments team good fun and work hard. recommend take ear plugs. travel fan if out season the beach is ok to left of hotel, as no seaweed, and is nice to swim in and clear. there is alot seaweed to right by harbour . they do seem to rake it but doesnt make alot difference. we did see a small tractor go by and though good but wasnt much change. which is a shame. I think general as we stayed last year near sousse and same seaweed issue.

I was very wary about this hotel after reading the reviews, well my experience was fantastic, all the staff were amazing so friendly, looked after me so well especially as I was on my own. The lady in the dining room went out of her way to make sure I had a lovely table. The cleaning lady kept my room spotless, with fresh towels etc every day. A special shout out to Cyrena on reception nothing too much trouble. The bar staff were so accommodating. The hygiene of the hotel was good not sure why people complained and yes I’m fussy! One of the biggest pools I’ve seen which was constantly cleaned, the animation team were really good, made some friends for life, will definitely be back! Fiona from UK

Had a fantastic family holiday to celebrate Adel's and Anthony's birthday at Marco Polo, the youngest of our group 11 years old and myself 80 years young. Everything was great, the staff friendly, happy and eager to please. To be honest nothing was too much trouble. The guest services manager was so kind. The bar staff and the dining room staff were all above standard. Great selection of animation activities, from archery to Karaoke aqua aerobics, to live singers. Mini club for the granddaughter was great too and the entertainment team were a big hit with her. The beach is amazing white sand and turquoise seas and a day on the sunbeds is a great way to relax. My room was spacious and well equipped with smart TV, good WiFi connection. Bed was comfortable. Safe was free, a fridge in my room and a hairdryer in the bathroom. Hotel linens were good quality and the towels fluffy. The housekeeping services were efficient and the hotel was very clean. The outside space was well kept and the gardens were nicely kept. I especially enjoyed listening to the birds singing..... so relaxing. We were early season visitors, so the hotel was reasonably quiet and I really liked the chill vibe around the massive pool. I will definatly be back, see you soon

The staff were amazing. Friendly and trying hard to please. The outside pool is gorgeous and although we went outside the main season there was plenty to do. The onsite spa offered well-priced packages and I had a great Hammam and massage. Buffet style food suited the group with different tastes. A youngster in the group had her food especially made and served with smiley wait staff. They even made us a birthday cake for a beach party one lunchtime! On the beach, close to local shops and restaurants and a range of excursions too. There’s a local hotspot for nightlife if that’s your thing, and peaceful beaches too, so something for everyone.

Marco polo is a fantastic place to stay. From arriving to going home we were looked after by Adel the manager of the animation team. And he made everything go smoothly. He planned the trips what we want to do and got us a good price. The food was good lots of variety this hotel should be a five star hotel. Thank you Adel for everything you did for us to make are stay at marco polo enjoyable.

Amazing hotel ! Would 100% stay again ! All the staff brilliant couldn't do enough for you. Food outstanding every meal time . Pool was brilliant too . Sea view rooms is a must! All inclusive drinks were fantastic a lot to try ! The Mrs loved the cocktails.
