A very local hotel popular among the local business travellers. I was there to explore Gunma mountains and this is one of the best western style hotel I can find that is close to train station. I do have to say the hotel is very old but everything still good for me. The single room is small but it has everything I need. Their 8 floor dining area for breakfast was so awesome as you have a wide view of the town and mountains around it. Breakfast is acceptable and I don’t have any complaints about it. What I like a lot is that they also provide free curry rice every weekdays excerpt weekend and public holiday. Although the curry rice is very simple without any meat, but it was so comforting to eat it. There’s also an onsen that you can use it, and a common room with comics, massage chairs and old school computer to use.

The self lounge at the corner of the lobby is good. Since it is a free drink except for night ～ early morning, I am glad to use it before and after check-in out, of course, after the morning bath. You can relax while watching the garden. Because it is winter, I didn't go out, but I saw foot bath? I want to go out next time because I saw something like it. The room is clean. It is especially convenient that there was a bath towel size pole in the bathroom. The side of the washbasin is also a paper towel and ⚪ as a corona countermeasure, but it is regrettable that the toilet was an ordinary towel. I went to Ikaho for the first time in 30 years. It takes about 15 minutes on foot to Kajika Bridge, where the autumn leaves start to shine and the light up shines. The rooftop open-air bath of this ryokan is spacious, open, and very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast had a lot of items, and they were all delicious and looked good, and everyone was very satisfied. The menu on the table is unique and interesting. The towels, cups, and toothbrushes provided in the room are color-coded blue, pink, green, and yellow, and I was impressed that they were devised so that they would not be confused with other people's towels. However, the corner room was more than enough for four people to stay, but I felt that the only advantage was the size, so I would like to choose a different room if possible. Since I was able to use Go To Travel this time, I chose this inn, and it was a great trip, with good baths and good meals. The next morning, I climbed the ropeway near the ryokan, and the scenery was more spectacular than I expected, so I recommend going there at least once.

We stayed with a couple. The staff service was good and the facilities were a bit old, but the large rooms were able to spend a relaxing time looking at the mountains. Visually great. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, the staff was very friendly and it was delicious. The room was interesting, I felt like sleeping in a wooden box. We could see the lobby from the room. The lighting pipes change color in the evening, it is pretty. There was art tastefully decorated in the lobby and a lot of plants. We used the private sauna. You have to walk outside the hotel to get there but once inside, they have everything ready for you (towels, amenities, showers, mirrors, locker room, aroma oils, water bottles). The breakfast was healthy and tasty too ! There is not a lot to do around the hotel but if you are interested enough in this hotel I think it’s worth the trip !

If you buy a JR Tokyo wide pass, taking JR from this location to various ski resorts (such as Goetsu Yuzawa and Karuizawa) is less than half an hour's drive away, which is very convenient!
