Dolce Vita Residence

Το κατάλυμα ήταν απλό και το προσωπικό ήταν πολύ εξυπηρετικό και φιλικό. Η τοποθεσία είναι κοντά σε πολλά ωραία μέρη για φαγητό και σε κοντινή απόσταση (20-50 λεπτά) από άλλες πόλεις. Ο χώρος της πισίνας είναι επίσης ευχάριστος. Ωστόσο, αν και δεν φταίει το ξενοδοχείο, υπάρχει μεγάλος αριθμός σκύλων στην περιοχή που έκαναν πολύ θόρυβο τη νύχτα, δυσκολεύοντας τον ύπνο.

I stayed here for 4 days and for the price I think it’s fair I paid £125 for 4 days I booked this last minute. In the studio apartment you get a cooker, fridge, storage space, tv and items so you can cook if you want to personally this wasn’t bad for 4 days if your staying a few days and you want to budget it’s perfect you can buy your own food. The host was very helpful she made sure I was comfortable I had travel she got me a bike so I could get around which will cost you 50/60 euro’s depending on your stay I was able to have late check out for a fee. Air conditioning is available for 5 euros a day. The sheets were changed daily which was nice and helpful. They have food available on the premises but if you want to cook your own food the supermarket is 700m away called ‘Mini Market’ where you can buy your groceries or they have a shop on the main road which is 2 minute walk turn left outside the gate and cross the field or you can just Google it. Roughly you’ll probably be spending €100 a day or more maybe I would recommend if your staying a few days nice pool, the main city centre is a 8 min cycle or if you a car quicker

The complex at Dolce Vita was really lovely, and the fact that there were only 12 studios/apartments was a bonus for us. The studios themselves needed some TLC, but were very clean. The housekeeper was supposed to clean every day, however on a couple of occasions she missed our room. This was brought to the owner's attention on the second occasion. She (Zoe) apologised profusely and stated that the housekeeper was still new in her role. The sheets and towels were replaced every 3rd day which was nice, and there were spare pillows and blankets available. Kitchen facilities were very basic, only 2 electric rings to cook with. Personally, a toaster or similar, may have been useful. Simple meals were available at the Pool Bar, which were excellent and not too expensive. Air conditioning was available at around 5 euro's per day. Kalamaki town/village was about 1.5 km away with numerous bars, shops, medical centre's etc. Plus the beach, great but very popular, though beware sunbeds were 20 euro's per day for two, whereas sunbeds at the Dolce Vita were free and generally there were enough to go round. The location was ideal for us, but beware - the quality of the road was pretty poor plus it wasn't easy to find. There were a few Supermarkets nearby (walking distance) for basic supplies including water, etc. However there was also a Lidl nearby - about 2 km away, which was much cheaper, and probably worth the taxi fare if you don't have a car. Overall, a fabulous place to stay, reasonably priced and a beautiful location. Well worth a visit

These apartments are very basic but clean ,would have been nice to have a toaster but there’s a bakery a 2 minute walk away selling fresh bread and cakes . The best part of this complex is the quiet peaceful location and friendly family that run it . Make sure you have a torch for coming back at night as there’s a little bit leading to the hotel that has no lights

I would definitely recommend this place ,it is in very quiet location but everything about it is lovely ,it's like having your own villa ,staff are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them

Quiet but still near to everything. Owner is really nice. Beautiful view The only thing is about luggage storage which is just somewhere outside and not in a room. Wouldnt leave anything valuable.

From start to finish it was a lovely peaceful holiday. Some days we had the pool to ourselves.The views from our top room were breathtaking, with views of the mountains and the sea. The rooms are basic but that didn’t bother us as they were clean and well maintained. Zoe the owner was fantastic, knowledgeable of the trips, booked us Taxis and can get you a hire car if needed. Dimitra was a lovely lady that worked in the bar and couldn’t do enough for you, and made our stay special. All in all a very happy much needed idyllic stay. We would definitely go back.

Really lovey hotel close to the town. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment when we arrived. Joy was an absolute pleasure and explained everything about the hotel. The hotel is in a really tranquil part of town with wonderful views and great swimming pool. Definitely worth a visit

We really enjoyed staying at the Dolce Vita. Would happily stay again. It is a VERY quiet & small hotel located out of the way, with 8 double rooms & 4 family size rooms over 4 floors. We requested a ground floor room on booking & it was allocated. Didn’t see a lift to the floors. Everywhere clean & tidy at all times. Staff always very welcoming, helpful & friendly. This hotel is NOT in Kalimaki, it is a good 20-25 min walk each way in to town where all the shops/restaurants are & no paths. A taxi is €8 each way … if you can get one!! I would rate the hotel a solid 2 stars/possibly 3. Pool area & gardens very well maintained. Cleaned down every morning. They have a small menu for snacks/meals but don’t think you could eat there twice a day for a week without quickly running out of options. There is no indoor restaurant though, food is ordered from a hatch & served outside on the decked terrace under umbrellas by the pool. Food was lovely, well presented & generous. Prices average for Zante (about €10-€15 per main meal) Most the time we had the pool all to ourselves as other guests were out & about. There are ample umbrellas & sun loungers by the pool, but no cushions which made them uncomfortable after a while. Dolce vita is advertised as self catering apartments and this is where it lets itself down slightly. In the double room we had was a fridge and 2 electric rings to cook on, not even a toaster! There was just one sauce pan, one frying pan, 2 plates, 2 bowls 3 mugs & 4 glasses & a few utensils/cutlery. It would be difficult to prepare & cook proper meals. Room clean & tidy. It was cleaned & beds made daily, towels changed every 4th day. Balcony with table, chairs & drying rack. No hairdryer in room, however there may had been on you could borrow from reception, I never asked. The shower is over what looks like a Belfast sink. It was over a bath with a stepped seat, 2 foot by 2 foot square. Not easy to shower in at all, no shower curtain so water went EVERYWHERE but although floor had a small drain, room not designed as a wet room. No bathroom shelves or storage, all toiletries had to be left on edge of sink/bath so all toiletries got wet being in the shower splash zone. As with all of Greece, ALL toilet paper goes in a bin next to the toilet & not flushed - takes some getting used to! Bin emptied daily. Air conditioning is in the room but not free. It is charged at €5 per day. There is a reasonably priced, well stocked mini supermarket just a 3 minute walk away. Essential for the amount of bottled water you’ll use. We would stay there again & would recommend, it’s perfect if you want a quiet holiday and as I said, staff are all lovely & nothing is too much trouble. I would add that if you have limited mobility this is NOT the hotel for you if you can’t walk the 25 mins to the nearest bars/restaurants. You WOULD need to hire a car as we couldn’t always get a taxi either to or from ‘the *****’
