Hotel Neue Post

During the Easter holidays we decided to spend our holiday in Zell am See and we chose the Hotel Neue Post which turned out to be a good choice. The hotel has a very good location, it is in the center of the city and is close to anywhere from there, parking is available in the underground garage with direct access to the hotel. We were very satisfied with the services provided, the staff is very helpful, both at the reception and in the restaurant during breakfast and dinner, the food is very tasty, the choice of food is sufficient for both breakfast and dinner, and the food is delicious. The hotel wellness is nice and well furnished. We were accommodated in an apar**ent, we were four adults, the apar**ent was optimally large, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one with a toilet and one separate toilet, a large living room and a kitchenette, the rooms are furnished for years - they are a little older, but still it is OK.

My 2 sons and myself stayed here for 2 nights while on a trip thru Austria hiking. We were all very impressed with the hotel. We stayed in an apar**ent which gave us the extra room and found it very comfortable. The hotel has an incredibly nice spa area, with bathrooms and slippers for use and a great pool. These were used by us as an after hike wind down and it actually impressed my sons and may have converted them to the spa life. We also had breakfast in the hotel each morning and all thought it was excellent. The location of the hotel within Zell am See is perfect….easy from train, easy to mountains, and easy to buses. Perfect hotel, truly.

We went with Top Flight. Fab hotel. Stayed here for a week while skiing with wife and two teenagers, 13yr girl and 17yr boy. Hotel is 100metres from end of slope, the 1st Gondala and Ski hire shop, so you can literally ski to within 100m of hotel at the end of the day. It is also only 50m from the main bus station where all the skiers congregate in the morning to get their various buses to the many slopes around Zell am See. Hotel is very central, there is a super Après bar right outside the door, but there are at least 6 other Après bars within a 3min walk. We were half board, standard of food was ok to good (breakfast and dinner), satisfied us and two hungry teens every day. Hotel spa, pool etc are all well kitted out. Hotel bar is very nice but alcohol is way more expensive here than the Âpre bars. We had a very large family suite that suited us perfectly. Overall, I could not fault the place on anything. There is a well stocked Spar shop right beside the hotel for all your kids basics, treats etc. There is also a separate entrance with kit room for storing your ski’s and boots, boot holders are heated so your boots are toasty every morning :-). Lastly, the staff were extremely nice, all of them in every depar**ent. Well done to this hotel.

We had a lovely stay at this traditional hotel. Our room was a lovely size for 2 adults and 1 child, double sink in the bathroom, separate toilet, lots of storage. Our room was traditional Austrian style and it is fair to say the images online do suggest a more modern style, but we were happy. Very clean throughout the hotel. Staff were amazing, all very friendly and helpful, so refreshing. Nothing was too much trouble. Location perfect for ski lift, ski bus, and a wander around the lovely town and lake. Restaurant was never chaotic, constantly refilling the food, never waited for anything. Our daughter can be a tricky eater, only 1 day was a problem and no hesitation when we asked if a possible alternative, fabulous. We also celebrated a birthday whilst away, lovely birthday surprise at supper time. We have no doubt we will be visiting this hotel again.

There are better hotels in the area for the same price. Positives: - Friendly staff - Good location for ski lift or bus to ski lift - Clean rooms Negatives: - Very noisy both at night and in the morning (Avoid the first floor rooms if at all possible) - Sewage smell from drains in the bathroom during the day. Had to make sure to keep the door closed at all times. - Half Board food portions are exceptionally small and really just a waste of money. You will need to eat more and elsewhere if skiing. - No control over the heat in the room. Uncomfortably warm at night. Leaving a window open will have you listening to a passing train or church bells. - Fire pits are lit in an outdoor bar area downstairs, this made my room and clothes smell like smoke until I returned to close the window.

We stayed at Neu Post for a skiing trip. Location was perfect for ski lift, bus station to other ski destinations (Kaprun and glacier) as well as just walking into town. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the facilities were excellent

We had an ok experience, but wouldn't stay again. Location is great. We like our bed. We upgraded to a large room which had some good facilities. If a relaxing spa is a key criteria for your holiday, this is not a suitable option for you. Kids run riot here from 3-6. The final hour (6-7) is supposedly adults only, but they don't enforce this rule. The hot tub is also not very warm. The ski locker room is the worst I've experienced. We paid for a Ski Locker at the CityXPress Bründl shop to fix this. Evening meal is poor.

Great location, rooms are of high standard. However restaurant was chaotic and food very disappointing - nowhere near 4 star standard. We were assigned a table on our first night - but this table rarely available all week ! Staff were friendly but had significant problems communicating with English speaking guests. Hotel bar was comfortable but again had language difficulties. Also at reception we had problems communicating most basic of interactions. Could not control temperature in bedrooms and option to leave window open not viable due to noise level outside. A 2 maybe 3 star experience at 4 star prices !

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were spacious and comfortable and the location was great. On the night we arrived we found the hotel to be very warm inside. I don't know if they turned the heat down during the week or we got used to it but it didn't seem too bad in the end. You wouldn't need the winter layers inside though. We did manage to turn the heat down on our radiator in the room but still quite often slept with the window open. We were lucky not to have a room on the main road so didn't suffer too much with the noise but there was shouting from passers in the early hours but that isn't the hotels fault! The rooms were large and very comfortable. They were cleaned and restocked every day. The décor is a bit dated but it's also quite traditional. I don't think it would feel the same being ultra modern. The food was lovely. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of variety. There was something different to choose every day as well as the same staples. Dinner you had a choice of main meal which you select the night before. You can help yourself to salad starters and soups. Again, there was always variety here. We did find the main meals to be quite small. However, a day or two in we asked for a plate of chips to come with our dinner and the staff were happy to oblige. After that we asked for extra chips with every meal when we made our sections for the next night. One of our party has food intolerances and made special requests at some meals and these were always provided happily. Unfortunately I didn't get the waitresses name but she was extremely friendly, spoke very good English and really couldn't have been more helpful. We typically ate around 7pm and found the restaurant fairly quiet. We didn't make use of the spa but it looked lovely. I didn't see a soul in it while I was there but I was probably there at times when most people would be skiing. All in all we really couldn't fault the hotel at all and would definitely return again.
