A hidden gem of a guesthouse within Zhangjiajie Country Garden Resort, my stay here far exceeded expectations!!! The guesthouse is situated on high ground with expansive views, offering continuous vistas of Zhangjiajie's verdant mountains right outside the window. Waking up to birdsong and the fresh scent of grass and trees in the morning was incredibly healing, truly embracing the tranquility of nature. Each room is incredibly well-designed; from the soft furnishings and color schemes to the selection of tableware, photography, and art pieces, the owner's artistic flair and thoughtful attention to detail are evident everywhere. Breakfast is plentiful and can be arranged with the butler a day in advance. You can fully immerse yourself in the mountain scenery right from your room, creating an incredibly relaxing holiday atmosphere. Highly recommended!

If I could, I'd give it six stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Our Zhangjiajie trip was actually a last-minute change — we only decided to reroute here three days before arriving, during the second half of our journey. And honestly, choosing this guesthouse turned out to be the best decision I made. Right after booking, I reached out to the owner about the itinerary, routes, tickets — basically everything — and she saved us from so many potential headaches. When we got there, she sat down with us and went through the routes in detail, even pointing out some lesser-known spots that were totally worth it. That really helped us slow down and properly soak in this stunning natural wonder of a city. The location itself is super convenient — just a few minutes' walk from the east gate of the scenic area. There's parking out front, and the surrounding area is packed with shops, restaurants, and mini-marts, so you never have to go far for anything. The room? Clean, comfortable, and quiet — great for a solid night's sleep. Loved the smart home setup and the heated towel rack was a nice touch. There's also a few washing machines and dryers available, which was a lifesaver. They even put extra drinking water at the staircase for you to grab each morning before heading out, and you can borrow trekking poles and umbrellas too. But what really stood out was the owner and her brother — warm, thoughtful, and clearly running this place with a lot of heart. Thanks to them, we genuinely enjoyed our time in Zhangjiajie. I'll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family, and if we ever come back with family members, this will be our first choice. For this trip to Zhangjiajie, we spent the first two nights enjoying a slow pace on the west side, then moved to the Guanzhi S B&B near the East Gate for the next two nights. This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. From the moment you step in, you know it's something special – an artist's entrance, with an artistic atmosphere permeating every corner. The details are meticulously crafted. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. It's no exaggeration to say this is the most thoughtful and attentive service I've ever experienced. 📍Location: 50 meters from the East Gate, 7-seater shuttle service provided The B&B is about 50 meters from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making park access incredibly convenient. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries. 🛏️Bathtub King Room: Refined Down to the Details We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. We spent just one night at Foggy Valley, but that was enough time to fall in love with this place! The room was very spacious, and the view from the window was simply magnificent. You can tell that the owners and staff paid great attention to quality — everything is made for comfortable sleep and a proper rest. The atmosphere in the room invites you to relax and take your time. I would especially like to mention the staff. The team is simply superb! All the employees speak excellent English and are ready to offer any support, handling any questions with a smile and genuine care. A special thank you goes to the girl who organized an unforgettable walk for us and hosted a tea ceremony. It was incredibly warm and heartfelt — it's moments like these that make a holiday truly special! Another huge plus is that you can order massage services to your room. After a long flight, it was exactly what we needed — our bodies were so grateful! The breakfast is excellent and is served in a very picturesque spot, which charges you with energy for the whole day. The hotel also has a restaurant with a very large and varied menu — we had dinner there, and the food was top-notch, everything was delicious. The hotel grounds are a work of art in themselves. It's especially beautiful in the evening when the lights come on. You can feel the tremendous attention to detail that adds even more charm and beauty to this place. Even in just one night, Foggy Valley gave us so many impressions. We will definitely come back again to enjoy this place for longer! Fantastic stay! Great value for money, and the location is superb. It's about a 20-minute walk from the Forest Park, the facilities are new, and the service is excellent, plus they allow pets for free. The location is excellent. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the East Gate of Forest Park (and roughly 8 minutes from the bus station, where you can catch a bus to the South Gate). The parking lot is right at the hotel, which is very convenient. Hygiene: The bedding was clean, but housekeeping after check-in can be hit or miss since the staff finishes at 12 PM. -0.2 Service: The front desk staff was very welcoming and professional. They even carefully reviewed my booking notes and requests, which was a nice touch and genuinely appreciated. Facilities: The hotel facilities are quite new (they have a Tmall Genie, but the toilet doesn't have a bidet function -0.1, though it is a smart toilet). There's a small issue with the accessibility facilities, as a section is missing -0.25 (however, the hotel staff will assist with luggage). Comfort: The hotel's design is simple and stylish. Dining: The room is spacious, and while they don't offer meals, there is a kitchen. Bonus Points: Not only did I get a room upgrade +0.5, but also a late check-out +0.5, a refrigerator +0.5, and a kitchen +0.5 (on a side note, I even saw a butler helping a foreign guest with Taobao shopping issues). Drawbacks: Despite the no-smoking signs, there was still a smell of smoke in the hallway. -0.5

This newly renovated hotel is on par with a star-rated hotel. The environment is comfortable, all kinds of facilities are complete, and the hygiene standards are very high. The staff are attentive and responsible, always ready to help solve any problems. The shuttle service to the East Gate of the scenic area is very convenient, and the lobby offers complimentary snacks and drinks. The surrounding amenities are excellent, with shops just a two-minute walk away. The night view of the stream's light show is absolutely stunning.

A very unique and memorable stay in Zhangjiajie! We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival. The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

I really appreciated my stay at the Barringo Inn. The service was excellent, and the entire hotel was spotlessly clean. A special shout-out to the guy at the reception—he was incredibly nice and went out of his way to be helpful throughout my visit. What really stood out to me was how reliable the hotel is. Before I even arrived in China, I ordered some parcels from Taobao and had them shipped to the hotel. They arrived early, and the receptionist kindly kept them for me for four full days until I checked in. That level of trust and care is truly unique and not something you experience everywhere. The location is another huge plus. The hotel is very close to many of Zhangjiajie's famous attractions, and practically everything you need is right nearby—supermarkets, restaurants, barbers, coffee shops, and traditional Chinese eateries are all within easy reach. If you're craving something different, you can even walk a little bit and find western options like pizza. It's incredibly convenient for any type of traveler. Overall, a fantastic experience—I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting! Next time I come back to Zhangjiajie, I will definitely book this hotel again without hesitation.

Joyce was a wonderful host. She and her husband run this villa about 5minutes car ride to the East Gate of ZJJ park. The location is perfect to see the town of Wulingyuan, the park and multiple other places nearby. Joyce's knowledge of the surrounding area is excellent and she helped organise an itinerary and got the tickets organised at cost. We were very grateful to avoid endless queues with timing suggestions too. The pleasant surprise for this villa is the excellent private chef on site. We sent a wechat message of the menu items we wanted and he would cook it on the spot. His steak is excellent, but he also does very good chicken soup, Peking duck, hamburgers and club sandwiches. The breakfast menu is western or chinese and is very good. Joyce's husband has good taste in the renovation of the villa. The room had good quality bath towels, comfortable beds, and an excellent rain shower. Overall we enjoyed staying this villa and would definitely return.

[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app. The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one. You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station. [ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations. The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends. There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village. For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate. About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan. Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.
