"A perfect weekend getaway from the bustling city. Tucked away in the mountainous countryside of Guizhou, Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic Minority Village in only three hour ride via high speed train from Guangzhou. The village is quite developed, offering shuttle service to and from the railway station for 10RMB each way. You can also arrange a private ride for 50RMB into the village. The village entrance fee allows 6 days of access into the village for 80RMB. I chose to stay at the Comfort Zhaoxing Inn next to the canola fields, away from the main attractions for a quieter stay. I can see swallows swooping, bugs chirping, and frogs croaking in the fields. My room has floor to ceiling windows offering great views of the mountains, fields, and rice terraces. Remote villages in the mountains are also visible. The inn is ran by a friendly couple. They offer sumptuous breakfast with generous portions. They picked up and assisted with my luggage at the village shuttle station. The village itself is for pedestrian only. They offer complimentary shuttle services every 15-20 minutes that makes various stops if you don’t feel like walking. It was relaxing to stroll along the river and around the village. Instead of taking a shuttle (20RMB round trip) to the rice terraces of TangAn Village, I took the trail that the locals used for centuries before shuttles were available. The trail was paved, crossing creeks, winding through the mountains and rice fields for 7.5km with an elevation gain of about 1,000 meters. The views were spectacular and the food were amazingly delicious and very affordable. I used Zhaoxing Village as a hub for accessing other remote villages. Shuttle buses offering two departures to Huanggang, Basha ethic villages (about an hour ride). Though if there is not enough passengers, they may cancel the service. My stay was memorable, and I plan to go back when the canola flowers are blooming."

"Had a fantastic stay! The hotel is located right in the old town, which is great. We arrived during the day so we could drive our car right in, then a staff member helped us take it to a nearby parking lot. Just a heads up, there's traffic control after 2 PM, so private cars aren't allowed inside then. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. Opening the window, you get a breathtaking view of the bridge. Our room even had a bathtub, so we could soak and enjoy the night view!"

"The host is very friendly. Any assistance on trips and places to visit just approach the host and she will be able to provide suggestion. The room is clean and I like the warm aircond during the winter hahaha it really keeps me warm. The view from the room is superb. A place to slow down in pace and enjoy the culture and lifestyle. This is really beyond my expectation, a very sincere store. 3-The store owner was very welcoming and took us to the room and arranged live TV for us because we didn't know how to use digital TV. 4-The store owner took the initiative to help us check the bus to Miao Village and sent us to the bus station to take the bus, which saved us the trouble of the journey. Inn room environment: 1-A complete set of Adolf shampoo, hair care and bath products, excellent! 2- Clean and tidy bedding and towels. 3-After use, the daily cleaning is done very cleanly and thoroughly. "I specifically chose to travel in May, avoiding public holidays, and the experience was exceptionally pleasant. The hotel's location is superb, right next to the observation deck, and the scenic shuttle bus stop is very close by. I didn't have to drag my luggage for a long distance, which was a relief since I initially read guides saying it would be exhausting carrying bags. Here, you don't have to worry about that at all. The owner was incredibly welcoming and even came to pick me up personally. They also provided tips on how to explore the area. The room offered a spectacular view; opening the window revealed the entire Miao village. The room was clean and tidy. Being on the mountaintop, it was also quiet, allowing me to sleep in until I naturally woke up. During the day, the shuttle bus was nearby, making it easy to head down the mountain for sightseeing and photos. As night fell, I enjoyed a local specialty drink, accompanied by the beautiful nightscape of the Miao village. Such leisurely and comfortable moments were truly enchanting."

"The B&B is very close to Bridge No. 1 and not far from where Baidu cars can drop you off, so the location is excellent. They can also help with your luggage. The room has a fantastic view, overlooking the entire Miao village, and the lights at night are especially beautiful. We were lucky to have clear weather, so the daytime view was also superb. It's very convenient to get to the cable car from the Xiaobeimen (Small North Gate). The room itself was very clean and warm, with air conditioning and an electric blanket. It was a really great experience, and the owner even has cute cats!"

"I highly recommend Aishushanfang! The location is incredibly convenient, right next to the North Gate of Qingyan Ancient Town, making it easy to enter and exit without any detours. Traveling during off-peak hours means fewer crowds, allowing for leisurely exploration during the day and a quiet evening at the guesthouse. The service is also excellent; they proactively offer travel tips and even help with luggage, making for a truly wonderful experience."

"The hotel is located in the core area of the attraction, there is no separate parking lot, parking for 20 yuan a day. The lakeside room is not big, the carpet is dirty, and there is garbage left by the front customers. The quilt cover is not clean. In particular, there are a lot of mosquitoes and no screen windows. The kind of small flying insect that should not bite people. The front desk is very warm and the service is OK. Breakfast is rice noodles + eggs + boiled corn + sweet potatoes + beverage orange juice. For non-weekend room rates around 440, the price is not high."

"An unexpected surprise! The views are incredible, overlooking the entire Miao village. Both the morning and evening scenery were fantastic. I really loved the duplex design; it was very clean, and the shower pressure was excellent. Staying here felt so relaxing. Having breakfast on the observation deck in the morning was a unique experience. The service was also top-notch; they thoughtfully sent a welcome message and tips beforehand. The location was easy to find, and the travel guide they provided for the scenic area was really good – we had a nice lunch at a recommended spot. They even had two Doraemon comic books in the restroom, which my friend absolutely loved reading!"
