We got the room from a high floor and the view is breathtaking . The bathroom was very clean and comfortable as well.Overall, we had a lovely and memorable time here. "Very nice place. Location close to airport and beautiful view. Main street Negombo is just 10min walk. Owner is very friendly and will help with everything. English spoken. It is very clean and spacious. No wheelchair access though. They can arrange lagoon tours"

"Extremely satisfied! I was given a high-floor room very close to the sea. The room was spacious with a private balcony. The power outlets were universal, compatible with domestic plugs, so no extra adapters were needed. Water, mini-bar drinks, and snacks were replenished daily. The hotel is connected to its own mall, where the food court was very convenient. The rooftop boasts an infinity pool, a green recreational area, and a sauna. The day before check-out, the hotel even left a thank-you note and a bag of their specialty tea on the bed. The service from the hotel lobby, breakfast staff, and cleaning crew was excellent. If I visit Colombo again, I'd likely choose this hotel."

"This hotel is truly unique, steeped in history, and they do a wonderful job of preserving its century-old heritage while still embracing the 21st century. Everything is excellent, the staff are friendly and respectful, really valuing old-school service traditions. There's even a museum showcasing famous past guests like Anton Chekhov and Yuri Gagarin. The 20-meter saltwater pool, right on the Indian Ocean, is simply fantastic for relaxing when the sea is rough. As I mentioned, the rooms are styled from the 1960s-70s, and you even get the charming creak of the floors and stairs. The hotel team clearly puts a lot of effort into maintaining the property against the forces of time and the ocean's weather. The dining experience for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is a story in itself. You can explore not just local cuisine, but dishes from across South Asia. The chefs and restaurant staff really strive to make your stay here an enriching culinary journey into local culture and traditions. If it's your first time in Sri Lanka, I highly recommend this hotel for your initial introduction to the country. Despite the cost, it offers great value, especially considering its convenient location near Colombo's main attractions."

"The sunset from the rooftop was absolutely stunning. The breakfast spread was incredibly diverse, almost overwhelming with choices. If you're on a higher floor, I imagine the room views would be great. For those looking for a hotel stay, I'd recommend opting for the ocean view side, even if it's a bit pricier. The city view is also lovely, with sights like the Lotus Tower. Honestly, having stayed in many five-star hotels, I felt there's room for improvement in their hospitality. For instance, at breakfast, a server spilled juice on my leg while clearing the table next to me. They apologized immediately and said they'd bring napkins. However, several minutes passed, and they unbelievably started setting the adjacent table first and seated new guests. Those guests also seemed confused by the wet floor. I had to ask a different server for napkins before they finally brought them. Regarding cleanliness, the drain in the shower clogged when I took the first shower, and the water wouldn't go down. Housekeeping promptly cleaned it, but I feel this should have been taken care of before check-in. Also, there were some mysterious stains on the towels, which I think should be replaced more regularly. Other than that, the clientele staying at the hotel seemed pleasant, and my stay was comfortable. The only place to plug in Japanese appliances was in the bathroom, so a travel adapter is essential."

"The staff made me feel so welcome and nothing was too much - even accommodating my dietary requirements as much as possible. They really helped make my travel easy and comfortable. The pool area is lovely and relaxing, rooms are basic, but clean and it’s ideal for the airport or as place to stay before onward travel :) there’s also a rooftop bar for sunset!"

"Overall pleasant stay at Cinnamon that I'd totally recommend to anyone and stay again myself. A comfortable bed, nicely sized room, beautiful property, convenient location, such friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast are just some basic memorable facts about our stay for 3 nights. The bakery downstairs, Plates restaurant, and the mall next door just add on to the comfort of the stay at Cinnamon Grand. To top it all off, we upgraded our stay to the executive floor, and accessed the lounge to enjoy a variety of mouth-watering snacks (that changed everyday) and took 2 free laundry/day offering. It couldn't get any better!"

"Mixed feelings We had quite a mixed impression of the hotel. There are definitely some very good things about it, but unfortunately, we experienced several issues that we did not expect from a hotel of this level. Strong points: 🌊 Relaxing ocean view. If you stay here, I would definitely recommend booking a room with a sea view - it is one of the best features of the hotel. 🛏 Extremely comfortable bed. After five months of travelling around Asia, this was one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. The mattress and pillows were excellent. 👧 Very attentive reception service. Even though we arrived late at night, the reception team quickly arranged an extra bed for our daughter. We really appreciated how quickly and thoughtfully they handled this after our late arrival. 😊 Friendly and caring staff. I especially want to mention the lovely lady who asked for our feedback at checkout. She was very attentive, kind, and genuinely apologetic about the issues we experienced. Because of her attitude and the way she handled our feedback, I’m adding one extra star to my rating. Weak points: We checked in late at night after an 8-hour flight and found a small insect in the bed. It was particularly unpleasant after such a long journey, we had to change rooms. Our main concerns were related to the housekeeping service on the 11th floor. We stayed in room 1107, and unfortunately, there were several things that could have been handled better. Unfortunately, around midnight, we were woken up by loud conversations outside our door, apparently by members of the staff. Shortly afterwards, the housekeeping staff started vacuuming the room next door and moving furniture around - at night. After a long flight, we simply wanted to sleep peacefully, especially as we were only staying for two nights. This was quite unpleasant and, in our opinion, could easily have been avoided. There were no slippers in our room, which was surprising. We did notice slippers in the housekeeping area, so perhaps they were simply forgotten. There were no hand or face towels in the bathroom - only large bath towels. This seemed quite unusual for a hotel of this standard, and it is not particularly comfortable to use the same towel for your face and feet. The bathroom lighting was also very dim, making it difficult to get ready properly and do my makeup."

"I recently stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Colombo, and overall it was a wonderful experience. The room was extremely spacious, honestly one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in within Colombo. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the amenities were excellent. The room included everything you might need—tea and coffee facilities, toiletries, toothbrushes, and more. The bed was very large and comfortable, and the TV, office table was huge as well. All the facilities such as the lights, air conditioning, and fan worked perfectly, so we had no issues at all. Our room was on the 8th floor (top floor) and we had a nice view overlooking the Galle Face Hotel with a small view of the ocean. The location of the hotel is also excellent since it is very close to Galle Face Green and many other attractions in Colombo, which makes it very convenient for travelers. The check-in process was smooth, and they welcomed us with a refreshing welcome drink. One thing to note is that the security procedure is quite strict. When we had guests visiting our room briefly, they had to provide their IDs and go through a security check. It was the first time I experienced this in a hotel, but it is understandable since it helps maintain safety. Although we booked bed and breakfast, we later asked if we could add the dinner buffet, but unfortunately it was already full. However, something very kind happened later that night. My mother wanted chicken congee, so we asked the room service staff if it was available. Even though it was not on the menu at that moment, they were kind enough to prepare and send us a bowl of chicken congee. It was a very thoughtful gesture, and we truly appreciated their kindness. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a very wide variety of food, and everything we tried was delicious. My family has always liked the buffets at Ramada, and this time was no different. They also had live cooking stations, and the staff there were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, everything about the stay was great. The room, service, location, and food were all excellent. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. It is absolutely worth the price and offers great value for money."
