Jintan Beach is right downstairs, perfect for taking the kids to catch small crabs and collect seashells. However, compared to Yintan Beach, the water quality here is slightly inferior. On the bright side, Jintan offers better value for money, and most importantly, the sunsets here are absolutely breathtaking. The swimming pool downstairs is also excellent – clean and well-maintained. Dining options nearby are plentiful, and if you don't feel like going out, you can easily order food delivery to your room."

When checking out early in the morning, the young lady at the desk even said, ”Please be careful on your travels,” which was very heartwarming. Overall, the experience was great, and it offers excellent value for money."

"Having stayed in numerous hotels both domestically and internationally, the Shangri-La Beihai stands out as the best experience we've ever had. Right behind the hotel is Golden Beach, perfect for stunning sunset views, and if the tide is right, you can even go clam digging. Our dedicated butler, Lily, provided excellent service throughout our stay, promptly assisting with both travel inquiries and daily needs. Last night, during afternoon tea, my husband, who has sensitive teeth, was kindly offered a bowl of very soft noodles specially prepared by Lily. The attention to detail in their service is truly impressive. This hotel is ideal for both short trips and relaxing getaways. The Rainforest Restaurant has a bar area where you can order new cocktails, and the evening ambiance is really nice. There's also a pool at the homestay, perfect for a swim in the summer. I was overjoyed. 🛏️ Suite Experience Over 100 square meters. The suite included an indoor soaking tub and swimming pool. The color scheme was simple and elegant—a combination of off-white, light brown, and dark wood tones, instantly creating a relaxing atmosphere. The view from the window overlooked the Silver Beach! I tried the coffee shop, Chinese restaurant, and ice cream shop one by one, and each exceeded my expectations. The hotel dedicated significant space to local cultural exhibitions. As a keen citywalker, I was exhausted from exploring Beihai's old streets and various seaside areas, but surprisingly, the most insightful experience of the city came from the hotel's exhibition hall 🤣 The curation was excellent. The curatorial text and style were tasteful. It wasn't just a perfunctory display of folk customs, but a genuine exploration of the city's historical context and way of life—from maritime culture to the memories of the Tanka people, from the old street fabric to the evolution of contemporary Beihai. It was also a photogenic spot. Another feature of the hotel is the inclusion of a collection space showcasing several high-quality niche brands. From luxury lifestyle products to carefully selected souvenirs, everything was practical, stylish, and imbued with Beihai's essence. These brands offer excellent taste and value for money. Although I also visited other places and tried several hotels, I felt that this hotel was enough for my trip to Beihai. I could relax, enjoy the sea view, shop, and eat to my heart's content. The rooms are equipped with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, with a first-line unobstructed sea view, and you can watch the sunset of the sea while lying on the bed. The overall is an artistic atmosphere decoration, the style is light and luxurious, completely different from ordinary homestays; The room facilities are brand new and complete, the bathroom and soft decoration texture are online, and the living is particularly comfortable. The dining ceremony is full, the room's exclusive afternoon tea value is high, the ingredients are fresh and delicious, and the sea view is very good to take pictures; after the tiredness of playing, there are warm good night desserts to soothe the tiredness. "This time, I traveled with my family all the way from Suzhou to Beihai. To be honest, Beihai was the core destination of our trip, and we planned to stay there for 3-4 nights. The Marriott was highly recommended and ranked as the number one resort hotel in the area. However, after staying there, I felt that despite its sea view location, many of the accompanying services were lacking. For instance, when we went to the restaurant, no one guided us to a table; we had to find one ourselves. Also, clearing dishes wasn't very prompt; in fact, on the second day, no one cleared them at all, even after we finished eating. Additionally, the fish tank was broken, and despite reporting it twice, it was never fixed by the time we checked out. Other than that, everything else was fine, and the hotel had a full schedule of activities for children every day. I just feel that for the amount of money I spent at this hotel, the overall service and amenities didn't meet my expectations. Some basic things weren't even done. So, for those who haven't been or are considering this as an option, my advice is: if you're not particularly bothered about a direct sea view, there's no need to book this kind of hotel. You can easily book a mid-range hotel like a Hanting or Atour about 2-3 kilometers away. I think they are more standardized, and you can even wash kids' clothes there. Most importantly, those hotels aren't too far from the beach; you can just rent a small electric scooter and ride over in no time, as Beihai isn't that big anyway."
