"We absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City. The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions. What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere. A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of. Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases. For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us. Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨"

"Having traveled frequently and stayed in many hotels and guesthouses, I'm quite picky about hotel layouts and decor. My initial goal was to find a hotel with its own hot spring so I could enjoy Tengchong's hot springs without having to go elsewhere for a private soak. Secondly, this guesthouse's decor, layout, and location were exactly what I wanted. Situated halfway up a mountain, it was very quiet and private. Soaking in the hot spring amidst the sounds of insects was incredibly relaxing. The air was also very fresh, and on rainy days you could see the morning mist, while on sunny days you could witness a stunning sunset – a truly wonderful experience. It's also worth mentioning the owner's exceptional service. From welcoming us to seeing us off, their attentiveness made us feel right at home. We stayed two nights here and had a fantastic experience. I'll definitely come back next time and highly recommend it!"

"If I had to rate it, I'd give it a perfect 100! The timing of my visit wasn't ideal – it was rainy and overcast – but that didn't detract from the hotel experience at all. The owner is incredibly nice, and their cats and dogs are just as lovely. Regarding some negative reviews about this room, I can only say the good far outweighs the bad. There might have been some noise from an air conditioning unit outside early in the morning, I'm not entirely sure what it was, but it really didn't bother me. Looking out at the sea view from inside the room created an indescribably pleasant atmosphere. For its price point, I personally believe this hotel is a standout among others in the same range, especially in Dali. The owner really makes the difference; chatting with them was so comfortable, and they even offered helpful travel tips. All in all, this hotel was the highlight of my trip!"

"My mom and I came to Lijiang, and I booked this hotel on a whim the day before we left. I never expected it would lead to such a wonderful experience! This was my first time visiting Yunnan, and I fell in love with the place, largely thanks to staying at such a comfortable hotel. The location is quite easy to find, right on the square in Yuhu Village, so you don't have to walk a lot on cobblestone paths, and it's also very convenient for catching a taxi. **Environment:** Waking up every day and opening the curtains to see the snow-capped mountains was truly healing. You can enjoy the snow mountain view from the guest rooms, the courtyard, and the restaurant. The hotel has been open for a while, but the facilities are well-maintained. The only minor issue was that the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work, and a slight drawback was that some of the essential oil bottles for the aromatherapy activity were empty. I hope they can be refilled promptly. **Service:** The front desk staff were very welcoming. When we couldn't find a certain photo spot, they shared their location and came to guide us. I participated in the evening tea ceremony around the fireplace for three consecutive nights. It wasn't crowded, but the atmosphere was great, with warm roasted milk, local specialty rice sausages, and Erkuai (rice cakes), plus some snacks to munch on. Chatting by the fire with the front desk lady and the local Naxi ethnic minority male staff member was delightful; all the staff had really pleasant personalities, which made it very enjoyable. Personally, I think staying here is much quieter and more pleasant than staying in the ancient town. I highly recommend it to friends who prefer a slower pace of travel and don't like crowds! I hope to come back for a second visit during mushroom picking season or the Torch Festival!"

"Must recommend! The landlord is very nice and helped to upgrade the bathtub room for free. I had a nice bath at night. The room is clean, tidy, spacious and bright. The bedding is very comfortable to sleep on. It is close to Haigeng Dam, National Village and 1903 Park. It is very convenient to go out and play. You can get a taxi at the door of the store. I will book this store next time I come to play."

"My time here was truly life-changing. The hotel was truly exceptional. We arrived from Dali with high expectations and they were certainly met. The rooms were spacious, the location wasn't too crowded so we felt like we had a lot of space to ourselves. But most importantly, our host, Sun, was truly an incredible soul. She was there for us on every moment and we could always send her a wechat message for anything we needed. She ended up really taking care of us in more ways than one. I would definitely recommend this place when you're staying in Lijiang. It's very hard to beat."

"We booked it on October 1st. The view from the room was amazing, beyond our expectations! The door opened directly onto Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. The kids were blown away when they opened the door and were very excited. 🥹The boss picked us up from the high-speed rail station, which was very convenient. The breakfast was also delicious, and there were three super cute kittens in the restaurant. 🥹 I will definitely come again next time."

"Very comfortable, very satisfied with a stay experience! First of all, the hotel is located on the mountainside. The room is directly facing the Bohai Sea. You can see the Bohai Sea as soon as you open the curtains, and the view is very wide! The layout facilities in the room are warm and atmospheric, bright and comfortable, and the toilet bath equipment is also smart. It is very convenient to use and very user-friendly. When you check in, you can play with the puppy. The puppy is very good, very cute and obedient. The boss is very enthusiastic and caring. He will ask if we need breakfast. The breakfast time is very delicious. The nutrition is reasonable and balanced. And when leaving the hotel, The boss also personally drove us to the high-speed rail station. "Location: Far from the city center, suitable for families with cars; parking is easy. Room Conditions: The bedding was nice, but it was far from my ideal ”hot spring villa.” It was more like a regular vacation home, managed by a hotel. The so-called private hot spring was just a small pool in the courtyard, which cost extra and took an hour or two to fill. We also experienced several unpleasant incidents, although the staff actively resolved them. My child went from initial excitement to a long wait, and finally, disappointment. Breakfast: To be honest, it didn't match the price; perhaps holiday prices were inflated. Summary: I won't easily try privately run guesthouses like this again. From hotel management to service level and response speed, they offer no advantages whatsoever. Staying in chain hotels or reputable guesthouses is much safer."

"The location is absolutely stunning, with lush mountains on one side and a vast river view on the other, offering a seamless transition between tranquility and vibrancy. Just a few steps downstairs, you can reach the riverside promenade, enjoying the river breeze and the view – it's incredibly pleasant. Staying here is truly wonderful!"
