"This large bed room, with its shared bathroom setup, felt quite private. The bedding was decent, and the bathroom was clean and not heavily used. Overall, it had a Japanese capsule hotel vibe. The best part was the communal area on the first floor, offering free paper bowls, cutlery, and hot water – super convenient for making instant noodles without having to buy cup noodles. The only downside was that the price was a bit higher than your average hostel."

"This hotel easily meets a four-star standard. The facilities are great, and the rooms are very new. They offer free parking and the location is convenient. There's complimentary coffee at the front desk. Since it gets dark late, the sunset view from the floor-to-ceiling window was beautiful. I'd definitely book this hotel again next time, it's excellent value for money!"

"Hands down the best hostel in Iceland! The common areas are incredibly clean, and the private bathrooms with showers are a huge plus. It's super warm inside – almost too warm! The bedding is really soft, and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking."

"This stay was, to put it mildly, a bug-infested lesson. I stayed for 4 nights. The first two nights were fine, but on the third night, things went south – I started getting bitten by bugs in the room, resulting in red spots all over my body. This wasn't just me being sensitive; these were clearly visible bites that required photographic evidence (which I did take, of both the spots and the bugs). What's even more outrageous is that this wasn't an isolated incident. I later found out that previous guests had reported similar issues, indicating that the hotel has a long-standing problem with hygiene and pest control, rather than a one-off accident. After the incident, the hotel's solution was to arrange a room change. The problem is, what had to happen already happened. The room change felt more like going through the motions than actually solving the issue. Due to hygiene concerns, I personally disposed of some of my clothes and shoes, essentially paying extra for this stay. To summarize: * The room has a pest problem. * Hygiene management is questionable (and seemingly a long-term issue). * The response was delayed and inadequate. * The guest had to bear the additional costs themselves. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, you might gamble on it; but if you don't want to use your body as a test subject, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel."

"The photos are really misleading; it looks completely different from the actual place. We booked an 'Exquisite Suite,' which turned out to be just one room with a living room, where an extra bed had been added. With the extra bed in the living room, the kitchen became practically unusable due to heavy smoke, shattering our dream of cooking our own meals. The room itself was quite small, and with the extra bed in the living room, there was barely any space to walk. It was on the top floor, with a very low attic ceiling and a small window. Soundproofing was poor; we could hear conversations from outside. The balcony door was broken and couldn't be opened, and the view was just average. Be careful with the main entrance; the automatic door opener is prone to catching hands! Check-in was in a different building. If you receive the address of the building you'll be staying in, you can have the taxi driver drop you off directly there, saving you the hassle of dragging your luggage around. To open the ground floor door, you need to pull it when you hear the mechanism (the 'push' sign on the door is incorrect). Cleanliness: Acceptable, cleaned daily. Location: Indeed excellent, right near the city center with many pick-up points for group tours. For 2500-3000 a night, I expected more space. Quite disappointed. (I was out early and back late every day, so I forgot to take photos)."

"Great hotel in an excellent city center location, with everything within walking distance. The room was spacious, recently renovated, and very comfortable. There was some noise from the street, but it didn't bother me at all. The breakfast was tasty with good quality options, although the selection stayed the same every day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, a very pleasant stay and good value for the location."

"Foss hotel Reykjavik is a great place, conveniently located next to Bus stop 12 where all the tour operators pick up and drop off as well as Fly bus tdrop off and pick up. The hotel is very clean and safe. I have a fantastic experience with the staff in front desk and house keeping. I was a solo traveller and I asked guidance to the front desk on some places that i wanted to go within and near Reykjavik. Tge front desk staff, he gave me suggestions and helped me book the show ticket. He gave me clear instructions and seeing my lost look , even gave me the hootel phone numbers to call him in case I run into trouble. But thanks to his clear guidance I managed to navigate well and had a great day out. This hotel is about 15 to 20mrs from city centre by walk. One day I forgot my gold chain in the room. But the housekeeping folks while cleaning did not even touch any valuable stuff that i left. It is really a very reliable and safe hotel. They have a restaurant that serves delicioys food. I ate their fish and chips and chicken salad. Both were great. The breakfast has a good spread. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The best part is still the excellent service from the staff. My trip got rebooked and i had multiple correspondence with the staff and they were always prompt and reassuring. The only downside of the whole stay was my room. I got a corner room which had a slanted corner shape, meaning a triangle cut off from a rectangle. Though nicely laid out, i felt claustrophobic as the room size was much smaller. That room is not ideal, especially if not solo."

"This room includes access to the hotel’s spa, so you can go for a soak anytime. The spa is quite interesting — it has both indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna. The whole area is very quiet and relaxing. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, and everything was clean and well maintained. Because of the heavy snow, I had no choice but to stay an extra night and added this room with spa package last minute(last room). When I stayed at the room earlier, I chose a cheaper rate without spa. but honestly it doesn’t matter — you can just add it when you arrive. It costs 3700 ISK per person per stay, and you can use the spa as much as you want. If you’re staying three nights, adding just 3700 ISK for unlimited access is actually a great deal and definitely worth trying. Location is more towards the other end of the main street so expect to walk like 20 minutes to the most interesting part of the city. Right opposite of the hotel is a place with different food stores, is a relatively cheaper (like 3500 isk per set) place to eat. There is a Thai food restaurant too (like 2600-3500 range ...but😅😅😅) Just note that you need to bring your own toothbrush, the soap shampoo is provided and slippers are only available in the spa room which has a bath tub and size a bit bigger."

"I personally feel that if you're planning to visit nearby attractions, you might want to reconsider staying here. It's quite a long walk to get anywhere, and while there are buses, they don't go to every destination. I chose this place mainly because of the cheap price and the fact that it was on the first floor (my luggage was very heavy), but I didn't realize it was so far from the sights. Self check-in is very convenient, and there's a place downstairs where you can cook and eat. The bathrooms are all quite small. It takes some time to adjust the hot and cold water, otherwise you might accidentally scald yourself. Plus, there are no hooks, so I had to put my clothes on the floor. I wouldn't recommend showering here if you're a larger person. Also, if you're a light sleeper, you should think twice, as it's right next to the road and cars pass by all night, making it very noisy. If you can tolerate all of these things and the price fits your budget, then it's still an option."

"Super friendly staff, best location in town. Only negative thing I can say is, despite our rooms not being booked by anyone else prior and being ready for us, the hotel wanted to charge by the hour for early check in. If you have luggage with you, they'll also charge you to store that too if you are early to 2pm check in. As our flight arrived at 6AM it meant we had to haul our luggage around or pay the price which was inconvenient. Otherwise great spot, would return!"
